“That’s something I’ll always do.” He bent his head and kissed her.
Damn, she was the sweetest thing he’d ever seen. “Let’s get busy.”
She climbed off his lap, and he had to fight the urge to yank her back into his arms. His control got shakier the longer they were together, and he knew it was just a matter of time before his control broke.
Chapter Ten
Tessa spent her days with Jade and had already met a few women—other littles—she enjoyed being with. Caylee, Jade, and Tessa were becoming besties because they spent so much time together.
There seemed to be a dozen men that ran the construction business, and Nate still spent a lot of hours in his home office going over blueprints and making notes. Since he had taken some architecture classes, he added a lot to the group. He talked about finishing his degree, but they were too busy at the moment.
A week passed, and then two, and although Nate seemed happy, he hadn’t taken their relationship to the next level. She wondered why but was too afraid to ask. At night, they spent time with each other before bed, usually watching movies together with his arm around her, and then in bed, he’d hold her all night.
Tessa moved her fruit around her plate as she ate lunch with Jade and Caylee.
“What’s going on?” Jade asked.
She hadn’t realized she had spaced out. She set her fork down. “Nate, he hardly…”
“What?” Caylee asked.
“He never touches me like a boyfriend is supposed to. He kisses and holds me at night, but that’s it. Is there something wrong with me?”
Both girls reached for her.
“God, no. You’re beautiful, sweet, and smart. I can’t see anything he’d want to change,” Jade said.
Caylee nodded. “I agree with Jade.”
“Then why doesn’t he want me?”
Jade’s brows puckered. “I don’t think it’s because hedoesn’t want you. He’s waiting for something, but I’m not sure what it is. Why don’t you just ask him?”
“Oh, God, I’d never be able to do that,” Tessa said.
Caylee squeezed her arm. “I think you’ll find out sooner rather than later. Just hold on.”
Tessa exhaled. “I couldn’t imagine letting him go. I love him so much it hurts.”
The other women nodded. All the littles she’d met seemed to have deeper emotions for their daddies than in a normal relationship. She wanted her and Nate to get there, too.
The next day in the elevator, Jade hugged Tessa on the floor where her and Nate’s apartment was on.
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” Jade said.
“Okay.” Tessa waved and walked down the hallway toward the apartment. She was a bit early getting home and wanted to change before Nate got home.
After a quick shower, she was sitting on the floor in the closet, tying her shoes. She heard the apartment door open and Nate talking, she guessed on the phone because she didn’t hear anyone else.
“Fuck. I’m wiped.” He paused. “No, the condos are coming around, and I think we’ll be able to move into them in the next month. I’d like to get them painted and have different floors put in before we move. It would be easier that way.”
Another long pause.
She almost stood to go to him until she heard her name.
“Yes, Tessa’s still here. She’s very sweet.”
Pause.
