“Moonbeam.” He smiled, closing the distance between us. “Go get dressed.”
“What am I wearing? Are we taking your bike? A car?”
“We’re in the van in thirty minutes. Moses is driving.”
“We better not be going somewhere cold,” I grumbled, stepping into my room, and rushing through a shower.
Once dressed, I followed Wrath down to the van and climbed inside.
“Are you really not going to tell me anything?” I asked.
“Nope,” Wrath said.
Moses chuckled from the front seat.
“Where are we going, Moses?”
He shook his head then shrugged.
“Well, unless you’re willing to spill the beans, no commentary from the peanut gallery,” I retorted.
“Which is it? Beans or peanuts?”
“Moses,” I hissed.
He grinned. “Fair enough.”
Wrath climbed in beside me and handed me a gummy, one that Raquel had custom made for me. They were high in CBD, with next to no THC, so contained no hallucinogenic properties, but aided in eliminating my motion sickness and trouble sleeping. Raquel even made them in the shape of Saturn, which she knew was secretly my favorite planet, even though I was born while Venus was in retrograde.
“Thanks, honey.” I sighed, leaning against him as Moses pulled away from the cabin. “So, where are we going?”
“Bahamas.”
I rolled my eyes. “We’re driving to the Bahamas?”
“Yep,” he said, with an emphasis on the ‘P.’
I let out a dramatic groan as I tugged on his beard. “You’re not going—”
His mouth covered mine and I couldn’t stop a quiet gasp as his tongue swept between my lips.
I was panting by the time he broke the kiss and he grinned, stroking my cheek. “You gonna stop askin’?”
“Will you keep kissing me?”
“Baby, I’ll keep kissin’ you whether or not youask me incessant questions, that I will continue not to answer, by the way.”
I wrinkled my nose. “Damn it.”
“Just sit back and enjoy the ride, Moonbeam.”
I loosened the seatbelt enough so I could stretch out across his lap, and he wrapped his arm around me, holding me so secure, I managed to fall asleep. I didn’t wake up until the van had come to a stop and Wrath was whispering my name. “Sierra. Baby, we’re here.”
I sat up with a yawn as Wrath released my seatbelt. “Where are we?”
“Hot springs just outside Breckenridge.” He slid open the van door.
I raised an eyebrow. “Danforth?”
