“Yeah, you know it?”

“Um, honey, everyone knows about the Danforth Hot Springs and Resort. It’s booked out no less than a year in advance.” He held his hand out to me and I took it as I climbed out of the van. “How the hell did you get a room?”

“Raquel.”

“How the hell did Raquel get a room?”

“Olivia.”

I waved my hand in a circular motion and hummed. “More, Wrath, I need more information.”

He chuckled. “I’ll give you more, but not here.”

“Fine,” I bit out. “But the tea you spill better be good.”

“Come on, baby, let’s get checked in.”

I followed him into the large, rustic main cabin and couldn’t stop a quiet gasp. A giant two-sidedfireplace sat front and center, with plush chairs in front of it. There were already people sitting around the front side, drinks in hand, reading.

Wrath squeezed my hand to keep me focused as we made our way to the front desk. Moses was behind us with our bags, and I knew he was amused that he was acting as both our chauffeur, security, and glorified bellboy. Luckily, he didn’t seem too put out by his current assignment.

Of course, that was Moses. He was the Sergeant of the club and could shoot a pea off a pool cue a hundred yards away, but he was also one of the most laid-back people I’d ever known.

Until he wasn’t.

A young girl at the front desk smiled as we approached. “Hi there. Checking in?”

“Yes,” Wrath said.

“May I see an ID and credit card, please?” Her nametag read, ‘Aly,’ and she was very pretty in a botoxed, crypt nail, I spend more on my spider lashes than my car kind of way.

Wrath nodded, pulling out his wallet and handing her his credentials.

“Thank you,” she said, typing away.

Wrath turned to me and whispered, “I gave her my fake ID.”

My eyes widened. “Why?” I whispered back.

Wrath grinned. “Test run.”

“Oh, I’m sorry, can you wait here just a second, please?” Aly asked, a littletoopolitely for my liking.

“Sure thing,” Wrath said, as she slid through a door to the back.

My palms began to sweat profusely, and my heart thumped loudly inside my chest.

“Oh my god, Wrath, she knows,” I hissed.

“Knows what?”

“She knows your ID is anake-fay,” I whispered.

“Pig Latin?” Wrath smiled from ear to ear. “You’ve really got this undercover agent thing down, don’t you?”

“We should turn ourselves in.”

He chuckled.
