She jerked against his palm, then moaned when he shifted the material until he felt her soft warm skin against his fingertips.

“Please,” she cried out, jerking her hips towards his fingers. When he dipped them inside her, she exploded and came more alive than anything he’d ever witnessed before. God. She was even more amazing than he’d expected.

His body ached to fill her, to be surrounded by her wet pussy. He wanted it more than he’d wanted anything in his life.

But he suddenly realized the rain had stopped and the parking lot wasn’t as empty and quiet as they’d expected.

Had she screamed? Hell, yeah, she had. Had anyone heard? Probably. He shifted her swimsuit back into place to cover her before leaning up and kissing her lips to keep her from begging him for more.

“I think we have an audience,” he said softly into her ear. “I’m hoping they missed the main show.” He motioned to a dark figure standing across the parking lot.

“Oh god.” She groaned. “When did it stop raining?”

He chuckled. “I thought the same thing. I was too busy watching the fireworks to notice,” he joked as he pulled his shirt back on. “I’ll walk you to your car,” he said, but she stopped him. “It’s right there.” She motioned. “It’s still raining, but not as bad. Stay, you can watch me from here.” She leaned over and kissed him again. Then she took her bag and dashed through the rain to her own car.

When he looked, the dark figure was gone, so he turned back to watch Jules’s taillights disappear down the road.

Then he drove home and had one of the worst night’s sleep in his life. He tried not to be grouchy when he showed up to work shortly after six the next morning.

The heavy rains had dumped a bunch of leaves and debris in all three pools, so it took him longer to clean them out than it usually did. When he was done, there was a bead of sweat dripping down his back, so he did what he normally did—he jumped in the pool to cool off.

“Are you supposed to be doing that?” someone called to him when he surfaced.

He glanced over and saw an older man sitting on a chair watching him.

“Yes,” he responded. “I have to test the salt levels,” he lied, somehow not rolling his eyes. It wasn’t the first time he’d been asked that. Nor, he doubted, would it be the last.

The truth was that no one that worked at the camp cared what he did. Just as long as his job got done. It was the same with all the employees.

Employees were allowed to use any of the facilities as long as they were off duty and didn’t make a scene. They were even allowed to invite a guest or two, just as long as they scheduled it ahead of time.

The perks of the job were almost as good as the job and the pay itself.

“I have a pool of my own. I know for a fact that’s not how you check the salt levels,” the man persisted.

Deciding he didn’t want to argue, he climbed out of the pool just as Zoey was coming around the corner.

“Oh, there you are Damion.” She smiled when she saw him. “Cooling off?”

“The young man was taking advantage of the pool,” the old man jumped in.

Zoey turned to him and in a cheerful tone replied, “He’s allowed. Thank you.”

Instead of it ending there, the old man looked taken aback, shocked that he would have permission to jump in an empty pool he’d just spent half an hour cleaning.

“Ignore him,” Zoey said softly. “His wife says he’s got dementia.” She took his hand and they walked towards the pathway. “The reason I came looking for you is to ask you to take over my shift at the volleyball net on the beach at noon.” He started to mentally run through his day. “You’re free. I checked,” she added with a smile.

“Sure,” he answered. “Anything wrong?”

“No. No.” She shook her head, and he watched a frown form on her lips. “No,” she said again.

“Are… you sure?”

“No, it’s just… I’m late,” she blurted out.

“Well, then you’d better…” The sentence was halfway out before her meaning sank in. “Oh!” He froze. “Oh!” he said again.

“I know!” Zoey shook her head. “I mean, Paige isn’t even a year old,” she said, pacing in front of him as her hand resting over her stomach. “We were trying, but I just didn’t think it would happen this soon.”
