Hell, a few of his friends had been joking for almost a year about it. But he wasn’t going to pressure her into anything, not when this was more important to him than any relationship he’d ever had before.

Shortly after midnight, after everyone had left, they walked to the parking lot, hand in hand.

“What are your thoughts on this?” He held up their hands.

“Hand-holding?” She smiled. “I like it.”

“I mean, in front of others,” he clarified.

She stopped and turned to him, then lifted her arms and rested them on his shoulders. “Are you asking me what I think of PDA?”

He nodded as his hands moved to her hips.

“Yeah, something like that.”

“I’m okay with it if you are,” she said easily.

“Even in front of the gang?” He motioned behind them.

“Especially in front of them. It’s going to be such a relief to stop answering everyone’s questions about when we’re going to hook up,” she joked.

“Is that what this is?” he asked. “Just a hookup?”

“No.” She shook her head. “I think we both know it’s already gone beyond that. Even before we’ve officially done the hooking part.” She smiled.

“One day left.” He sighed. “Then we head out for four days, three wonderful nights.” His hands started moving slowly over her hips. “Nights during which I know exactly what I plan on doing with you. To you.”

He felt her shiver. “We could…” She motioned to her car.

He leaned down and kissed her. In his heart, he knew he wanted to wait. He’d never wanted anything to be as special as his first time with her. That didn’t mean he couldn’t enjoy the moment with her.

After all, just feeling her lips under his had him growing harder than he’d ever been—physically and mentally—for someone.

They were both a little breathless when the first raindrop fell on their heads. He leaned back and looked up into the dark night sky. He could see the lighter grey clouds rushing past them.

“We’d better…” He didn’t finish getting the words out before the sky literally dumped on them.

He took her hand and pulled her the rest of the way to the parking lot.

The torrential rains in Florida were nothing to be ignored, but most of them were quick to pass. He opened his passenger door and helped her inside, then rushed around and climbed in behind the wheel as the rain continued to fall hard over them.

“We’ll wait it out.” He shook the rain from his hair, then he looked over at her.

The raindrops had caused her hair to almost glow, much like her skin was doing.

Without a word, he slid across the seat, pulled her back into his arms and covered her mouth with his. “I want you so bad,” he groaned. “But I’ll be damned if the first time is in my truck when I have to be at work in a few hours.” He sighed. “The trip…”

She nodded in agreement. “I wonder what else we can do to pass the time until the rain stops?” she asked, and then bit her bottom lip.

“Oh, you’re in trouble now.” He shifted his hands on her. Her eyes closed as her head leaned back against the seat. Her breasts felt like silk even through her wet clothes. He cupped her as he trailed his mouth down her neck.

Her hands bunched in his wet shirt, then he felt her nails scrape his shoulders as she tugged his wet shirt over his head. He pulled back and tossed it aside, then slowly unbuttoned the shirt she’d put on over the floral swimsuit top that was part of her outfit for the evening.

“God, you should wear a bikini every day to work,” he said, looking at her. She gave a nervous little giggle and then gasped when he dipped his head down and trailed his tongue across the skin between her breasts.

She tasted like fresh rain and sex. Hooking her top with a finger, he nudged it aside and lapped at her erect nipple. He took it deep into his mouth, sucking until he felt her buck under him.

“Damion, I need…” She groaned as he pushed his hand through the fake grass skirt that she was wearing to cup her through the bikini bottoms she wore underneath.
