“Alright then,” I turn to Dex, “Truth or dare?”
“Truth,” he nods.
“Have you ever been arrested?”
“Whoa,” Zarael chuckles and even Theron can’t hide a smile. “Girl’s got some cojones!”
I can’t help laughing, too. Dex is trying not to, but his eyes can’t hide it.
“Twice,” Dex replies and raises his beer. “I wonder why you didn’t ask Theron that.”
“His turn is coming,” I wink at him and I know that I’m slowly crossing that line, but I don’t care. This slippery slope will get me exactly where I want to end up.
‘OK then, my turn,” Dex takes a sip, then considers it for a moment or two. “Truth or dare?”
“Truth,” I reply, knowing what kind of a question he’ll probably ask.
“We know you sleep in the nude here, but I guess we all want to know if you do that normally,” Dex flashed a grin.
“No,” I giggle. That wasn’t so bad. “I usually sleep in pajamas. Sorry for the disappointment.”
“Eh, well, pajamas can be taken off, you know,” he replies.
“OK, me again,” I jump at the opportunity to turn to Theron. “Truth or dare?”
“Truth,” he answers.
“How many girls have you kissed?”
Theron stares at the fire and doesn’t reply immediately. I look at Dex and he can’t stop laughing. I frown a little. Poor Theron probably hasn’t kissed even half the girls Dex has, but that’s still no reason to make fun of anyone.
“You know, a number is nothing really,” I try to tell him, then Theron looks up at me.
“He’s still counting!” Zarael replies and both he and Dex burst out into laughter.
“Are you serious?” I ask Theron and then, I also start laughing. That’s the last thing I expected from him.
“We’re counting just kissing, right?” Theron asks and all four of us are laughing so hard that I can barely keep myself straight.
“You know we’ll be here all night if you let him keep on counting,” Zarael is still making fun.
“Do you have a number?” I ask Theron. He nods.
“It’s probably not correct, though,” he says apologetically. “But, it’s approximately 85.”
“Liar,” Dex is rolling in the aisles now. “He has no idea!”
“Oh, come on, you guys,” I try to calm them down, but it’s impossible. “Just pay no attention to them. Ask away,” I tell Theron.
“Alright, truth or dare?” he asks and I decide to raise the stakes.
“Dare,” I tell him, with a wicked gleam in my eye, which no fire could hide. The sound of my voice makes all three of them stop chuckling. They are listening intently.
“Make it a good one, Theron,” Dex winks at him.
“Do a sexy dance,” Theron says.
They’re all silent, waiting for me to do something. Maybe even for me to refuse. Instead, I take a sip of my beer and stand up. My arms fly high up and my body starts twisting, following some noiseless music that exists only in my mind. The rhythm is flowing all around me and some invisible hand is guiding me. I can feel their eyes glued to me, watching, soaking up my every move. A minute later and I’m done. They seem done, too. I smile.
