He blinked back into the moment. “Hm?”
Beez grinned. “You’re already thinking about the party, right? Okay, listen. I gotta go for a while. Since you’re with Alcy today, you shouldn’t miss me too much.” He cupped his crotch, and it was obvious he wasn’t wearing underwear. Carter’s ass clenched, remembering that tail fuck. “I’ll only be gone a few hours, though. Need to pick up some favors for the party. Is there anything in particular you like to drink?”
“Um… orange soda?”
If he'd thought Beez would tease, he was wrong. “Okay, I’ll lay in a supply.” Something tickled Carter’s throat, and he coughed. He covered his mouth, and Beez frowned. “You okay? You’re looking a little flushed.”
“Fine. Just… swallowed wrong.”
Beez leered. “Don’t ever swallow cum wrong. It might be awesome going in, but it burns like hell on the way out. And trust me, I’m the expert on Hell.”
“I’ll be sure to make a note of that.”
“Then I’m outta here.”
Before Beez could do his vanishing act again, Carter leaned in and gave him a gentle kiss. When he pulled back, Beez’s eyes were wide.
“I’ll hurry,” Beez promised. Then he was gone, leaving Carter alone with his thoughts.
A sex party. Hoo boy…
Carter stood at the bathroom mirror, staring at his reflection. He frowned, and Alcy’s heart sank to see it. He walked up behind Carter, his hands on Carter’s shoulders, gently massaging them. “Why so glum?”
Carter leaned into the rubs, closing his eyes. “You’ll think it’s dumb.”
Judging from Carter’s expression, something was tearing him up. “Why don’t you let me be the judge of that? Because whatever is eating you, I think you need to share it with me.”
He gave a sigh of resignation. “Beez wants to take me to that party… you know, the one he mentioned? He said it’s a club that caters to, and I quote, all sort of freaks and weirdos.”
Alcy was obviously missing something important. “Okay, and? I mean, it’s Beez. What did you expect? Suit and tie? That’s not the kind of place you’d find Beez. So what’s the issue?”
“Theissue?” Carter squawked. “Lookat me. I’ve got a skinny body, freckles, and pasty skin. Nothing about me screams anything other than being a loser that Beez took pity on.”
Is that really how he sees himself?Maybe it was time for some home truths.
“Carter...” Alcy leaned in, his chin on Carter’s shoulder, his gaze locked on Carter’s reflection. “You are a stunning young man. You have incredible eyes, and your cheekbones would make angels jealous. Your freckles? They’re works of art, highlights painted onto your alabaster skin. And if Beez asked you to go to this party with him, he knows he’ll have to hover over you to keep everyone there from ogling and touching you.”
Carter huffed. “Psh. No one is going to want to touch me, especially when they see Beez.”
It was Alcy’s turn to sigh. “Okay, then how about this? You’re welcome to say no, but... What if I were to show you some touch-ups? Here, have a seat.” Carter sank onto the toilet seat, and Alcy got to work. He wound Carter’s silken tresses around his fingers. “I wouldlovea chance to get at your hair, give it a new do and all. You’re gorgeous now, but whenI’mdone with you? Angels will sing songs about you, and demons will jack off in the corner at the mere mention of your name.” He winked. “In fact, I’m thinking you might be hot enough to tempt some angels to sin.”
Carter fluttered his lashes. “Does that include you?”
If he only knew how hard it was for Alcy to maintain his focus. Having Carter’s gaze turned on him thawed something inside Alcy, but it was more than that. That gaze stoked a fire such as Alcy had never known before. “Maybe not me,” he said. “I’m made of sterner stuff.”
But he wasn’t. He’d been tempted by Carter since he and Beez were summoned. There was something about the guy that made Alcy wonder what was the worst that could happen if he… indulged himself, just a little bit. Seeing Beez flirting, touching, fondling…. More than once, Alcy had to battle the green eyed monster. He wanted to know what Carter felt like under his hands. He wanted to be the one to make Carter come apart at the seams with nothing more than a caress.
He wanted to be the one to make love to Carter, then hold him afterward.
Let’s be brutally honest here. I want what Beez is getting. What healwaysgot. Alcy hated that so many people ended up taking the downtown bus, just because the modern world was a hedonistic place, and hey, why stop the party, even after death? The number of people who popped upstairs was few, and the ranks were thinning. And when Alcy had brought this up, the Supreme had smiled and said not to worry.
As if that would stop him. Supposing this trend continued? If too many left, what would he do with his time? He loved—no,needed—to be around people.
People like Carter. And, as much as Alcy was loath to admit it, Beez too. They made him smile, made him long for things that could never be.
“Are you done yet?”
Carter’s nervous tone filtered through. “Almost. Let me just fix your hair a little.” He brushed it back from Carter’s forehead, and frowned. “Hey, are you okay? You feel a little warm.”
