Taking a deep breath, I ordered Sal to go get everyone. As he left, I walked to my desk and took a seat. Leaning back, I closed my eyes. I just needed five minutes of peace. That’s all I was asking.

Since aligning with the Golden Skulls, it felt as if I’d been running non-stop. There was no break. Nothing. Every time I turned around, there was something else. So much was going on. I was going to need a spreadsheet to understand it all.

“I feel ya,” Reaper said, sitting on the couch. “Never a dull moment.”

Sighing, I said. “I just need five minutes before the next shoe drops.”

“It won’t matter because just when you think something is finally going right, something else pops up.”

“You know, I am actually looking forward to my honeymoon. No phones, no internet, just me and Layla on an island in the middle of nowhere.”

“Sounds boring,” Reaper chuckled.

“After this last week, I am looking forward to boring. What about you? I know your woman is pregnant, but you are not married. When are you going to make an honest woman out of her?”

“I’ve asked her several times, and she keeps telling me now isn’t the right time. Who knows with Remi? Maybe after the baby is born. She is pissed at me right now anyway.”

“Why is she angry?”

“She’s seven months pregnant, and because of all the shit going on in the club, she’s been in safe houses for the last few months. She hates them and refuses to leave the clubhouse. It’s a fucking nightmare. Are you sure you want to marry Layla because if she’s anything like my Remi, she will give you a run for your money?”

Grinning, I nodded. “I’m sure.”

Sal and the others walked in, Illyria closing the door behind her as she was the last to enter.

“Okay, Reaper. The floor is yours,” I said, sitting up and giving him my full attention.

Nodding, Reaper called Sypher, and when the call connected, he put the phone on speaker so we all could hear. “We’re all here. Go ahead, kid. What did you find?”

“It’s not good Mr. Reaper. Catarina was being held at a breeding farm, north of Rome run by Vito Bianchi. That is where they take women to go, rape them with the intention to get them pregnant. When they become pregnant, they are moved to a halfway house until they give birth. Once the child is born, the baby is sold, and the woman goes back to the farm. The process is repeated until the woman is no longer of use.”

“I’m going to be sick,” Illyria whispered covering her mouth.

“Sypher, don’t say it,” Reaper growled.

“Mr. Reaper, Mr. Gio, I am sorry, but it’s bad. Like really bad.”

I hung my head and tried not to get sick. I had heard of depravity, but this was much worse. This was beyond my worst nightmare.

“According to the records I found, Catarina was part of the breeding farm for eleven months. I have a file on her time there.”

“Did she have a child?” I asked looking at Reaper who looked as sick as I felt.

“Yes Sir.”

“Where is the baby?” Reaper asked.

“After the baby was born, it was given to a nurse and transported to California, sir.”

“California?” Illyria sniffed. “Why there?”

“The baby was bought by a couple named Jim and Susan Weaver.”

My head snapped up. “Who?”

“Jim and Susan Weaver, of San Francisco, California.”

“You mean James Weaver, accountant for Family Entertainment?”
