My focus is helping my friend, because she’s obviously terrified, but I have no ideahowto help her. Connor said she won’t talk to a professional, so I’m clueless, but I need to figure something out, because she’s retreating.

HARD.

It took everyone to convince her to come to the game tonight. It’s the last game before Thanksgiving next week, so I guess it’s a big one. The idea that Serena wouldn’t want her to miss it is what I think got her to agree, but it’s still worrisome.

After my shower, I put on a pair of jeans and a long-sleeved tee, pulling Cole’s jersey over the top. November in the northeast is no joke, so I also pull on thick fluffy socks before putting on my Chucks.

I grab a knit hat and gloves too, because I’m going to freeze without them. I mightloveall things fall and being cold, but being coldoutside, where I don’t have a cozy fire and hot chocolate… yeah, that’s not my favorite.

“You nearly ready, Sunshine?” Sawyer asks as he leans against my door frame, his arms above his head as he leans forward. His black t-shirt is skin tight, and the hem has risen up to showcase those freaking washboard abs of his. That lickable V poking out the top of his jeans makes me lick my lips.

Yes he’s a freaking Adonis, I’m aware, but jeez… do Ihaveto be so aware of it all the time? And does he have to look so good ineverything?

“You’re drooling,” he teases, flexing his arms on purpose.

“You’re hot, so sue me,” I shrug, and his grin widens. “But yes, I’m ready. Are we still getting food with everyone after?”

“Yeah, no party tonight, win or lose. Not after the memorial.”

I grab my phone and wallet, pushing them into my pocket before grabbing my hoodie and zipping it up over my jersey.

“You know you’re not going to get away with that right?” Sawyer asks, and I look at him sideways.

“Huh?”

“Put the hoodie under the jersey, Briar,” he deadpans.

“Right,” I say, nodding. “One day I’ll get used to this football stuff.”

“Yeah, maybe,” he teases as I unzip the hoodie, strip off the jersey, then redress in a way I won't get crucified for.

“Better?” I ask once I’m redressed, and he moves toward me, wrapping his arms around my waist. I twine my fingers behind his neck as the fresh sea breeze scent that is entirely him overwhelms me. He kisses me softly, but with so much passion that all thoughts but him leave my head.

My fingers twist in his hair as he pulls me even tighter against him and my toes curl as shivers run down my spine.

“We’re going to be late!” Asher calls up the stairs, and Sawyer groans as he pulls back from the kiss and rests his forehead on mine.

“Such a freaking cock block,” he moans, and I laugh softly.

“Oh, yeah, ‘cause me living here the last few weeks, you’ve totally been suffering with the lack of orgasms.”

“Sunshine, there is never enough time with you,” he murmurs, tucking my hair behind my ear. “Also, you look fucking adorable in this hat.”

“Thanks,” I say, my cheeks heating.

“We should go before he starts sulking.” He sighs and I can’t help but smile. Considering how alike the twins are, they couldn’t be more different.

He spanks me softly and I let out a little squeak. “Tease.”

“Oh, Sunshine, you have no idea how much of a tease I can be yet.” He winks at me before pulling back and leading me downstairs to where Asher is waiting for us. He’s in a black henley with the sleeves rolled up, his ink very much on display, and my steps falter.

Yep, it’s not fair.

I shouldn’t be this affected by them, and yet… here we are.

Asher grins at me like he knows exactly what I’m thinking. “Later, Beautiful,” he promises, and I’m going to hold him to it too. He holds out his hand for me and I move to him.

“I’ll go warm up the car,” Sawyer says before heading outside, leaving me alone with Asher.
