“Text me when you’re free,” he said as I headed out of the office.
I’m not texting you till I’m home and alone. Because you cloud my judgement.
I wasn’t even back on my unit yet when my phone vibrated. I pulled it out and sighed.
I MISS THOSE DELICIOUS LIPS ALREADY.
Instantly, my core began to warm with need. I wish I didn’t feel the same way. It is hard holding back when my body reacts to him so easily. But I couldn’t allow this attraction between us to get in the way of my future at the hospital.
I slipped my phone back into my pocket without a reply.
It vibrated again and this time he said, I MISS THOSE BEAUTIFUL EYES OF YOURS TOO.
I sent him a quick response. WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS? YOU KNOW I’M AT WORK.
AND YOU’RE IRRESISTIBLE.
I put my phone back in my pocket and told myself from this point on, I wasn’t going to look at it. At least not until I was home and alone.
