She’s already drifted off and my mouth curves into a peaceful smile atthe sight of her. She’s fully naked underneath my patched quilt, the ends of her hair still wet from the lake and there’s a softness and dependency to her that wasn’t there before. She truly is mine now.

Forcing my attention elsewhere, I hurry wrapping up the husky’s paw, not giving a shit about his growls and he finally settles down, realizing there’s no use. Meadow’s dog looks at me then at the husky and then she pushes her nose against my leg, almost as if thanking me.

Shaking my head in wonder, I stroke the little rat over her ears before getting up and I walk over to Meadow, cursing silently when my weight causes the mattress to dip and her eyes flare open.

“Didn’t mean to wake you,” I say in a low voice, massaging her hip, “go back to sleep.”

Her mouth forms into a pout and she rubs up against me. “I don’t want to. You’re not with me when I sleep.”

Grabbing her fingers in mine, I rasp, “I’m always with you. And you’re always with me. In my thoughts, my heart.”

A hint of pink moves over her cheeks as if she just remembered something embarrassing and she whispers, “But it wasn’t always like that.”

It might not have seemed that way but she was with me right from the start. “Yes it was, you were constantly on my mind. I worried sick over you being in that fucking, soulless house. From the moment I saw you, I wanted to take you away.”

“You d...did?” She sounds like she’s on the verge of tears and it feels good being there for her when and if she wants to let them fall.

“Heard you scream and cry in your pillow every night,” I say and she looks down.

“You were probably the only one who heard me.” A flash of regret crosses her face, before she murmurs, “And I was such a brat to you.”

I nod. “You were. But you weremybrat.”

She smiles gently before growing serious. “Dom, am I really your...” she bites her lip, “your...”

“You’re Daddy’s little, sweetheart, yeah,” I reply and she buries her face against me and I feel something wet on her cheek but she wipes it fast, letting me know she doesn’t want to talk about it. I get it. Her chest falls and rises against mine and I know turbulent emotions are swirling in her.

Planting a kiss on her temple I rasp, “I love you, Meadow. You know you’re my whole fucking world, right? If I don’t get to live inside of you, I’ll be a pathetic, dead man walking.”

Lifting her face, she whispers, “I love you too, Daddy,” Her hand goes lower to her stomach. “I love you so much, I want to make you a little baby.”

Groaning as male pride, rips through me, I grab a flashlight that’s on the bedside table, ducking under the covers and turn it on, making Meadow squirm. Her thighs are so damn soft and a jerking cracks in my body when knowing that I’m going to be able to look at her and have her however I want for the rest of my life.

“Oh...what are you doing?” she breathes, her stomach rippling as I shine the light on her slit. It looks too enflamed and tender for another round tonight but she’s still dripping with my come. She looks well taken care of, but she’s been disciplined too and I know her buttocks chafe her every time she moves around on the sheets.

“Daddy’s just looking at what’s his,” I answer, taking the quilt off and I turn off the flashlight, “need to make sure my come goes straight to your ripe, little womb.” Grabbing Meadow’s knees, I align her legs against my torso, making her turn hot and red in the face and she brushes a hair strand out of her way.

“Will this really work?” she says in a low voice, her eyes shining with hope.

It’ll work, I’ll make sure of it. She’s giving me that kid. And after that she’ll give me several more, just like I’ve always wanted.

Even before I fully wake up, there’s a sense of contentment in my body. No tension in my muscles, peacefulness in my mind and my chest is flooding with something. Warmth. Affection. Love.

“Dom, there’s a car incoming,” Meadow says anxiously and my eyes shoot open. Daylight’s streaming into the cabin and judging by the placement of the sun it has to be around noon. At the sound of rolling wheels, I get up, shoving on a pair of denims and I toss Meadow her shirt.

“Who do you t...think it is?” she asks, putting the shirt on with trembling fingers. “What if it’s the same men who attacked us?”

“Doubt it,” I reply but still grab the shotgun hanging on the wall and Meadow turns pale. The dogs start barking at the strange intruder and Meadow jumps out of bed, looking at me with fretful eyes.

But she doesn’t have anything to worry about because now I can see who it is, see that it’s a familiar black car. “It’s Harris.”

“Harris?” A slow, almost flattered smile lights up Meadow’s face and it kills me, rips my heart in a million pieces. “Maybe my parents sent him to get me back.” Her smile widens and she shakes her head. “Not that I’m going to. I’m staying with you.”

Nodding, I reach out for her with my hand, rasping, “Good girls know their place. Stay behind me.”

Meadow’s eyes flash but she nods and we walk out on the porch, with the shotgun on my hands. Meadow does as she was told, staying behind me and I make myself as big as possible, shielding her physically because sometimes I can’t do it emotionally.
