Orgasming alone isn’tquitethe same as having Elijah take control of me, but it’s a release my body desperately needs. I let myself scream through the bliss because I’m pretty sure no one can hear me. I’m in the only little cove on the other side of the waterfall.

I sink to my knees and gasp desperately, needing to catch my breath for a moment. Honestly, I could stay here for the rest of the vacation given half the chance, and not just because it’s so beautiful here, but because I don’t think I’m ready to keep facing everything that’s happened.

I’ve never messed up like this before. I’ve never betrayed Olivia or any of my friends. I don’t know how I let lust get the better of me to the point where I ended up sleeping with Elijah.

Olivia’s long-lost father.

A man she doesn’t even have any kind of bond with as of yet.

What am I going to do? How am I going to make this right? I have no freaking clue and that sucks. The fact that I’mstillfantasizing over Elijah so much that I have to masturbate behind a waterfall just shows how weak I am.

I still want him. It doesn’t matter that I can’t have him, I just do.

“I need to get out of here,” I mutter to myself as I perch on the edge of the rock to dangle my feet back in the water, hoping that I can cool myself down a bit. Although I don’t know if I mean out of here, away from the waterfall, or off the island completely so I can’t make any more mistakes when it comes to Elijah and Olivia. The last thing I want to do is get in the way of them bonding and developing a real relationship.

My heart sinks, and my stomach flip flops, there is no obvious answer.

Not at the moment anyway.

I don’t know what I’m going to do.

ChapterSeventeen

ELIJAH

“Michael, hey it’s good to see you.” I shake the hand of my business associate before taking a seat at the fine dining establishment he wanted to eat at. “Thank you so much for coming to see me. I know Laucala Island is a little out of your way.”

“Hey, don’t you worry about that.” He makes a sweeping gesture with his hands. “This is a gorgeous place, filled with beautiful people. I don’t mind being here at all.”

I share his smile. I actually really like Michael, he reminds me of myself when I was his age. Just starting out in business in my mid-twenties, with the world as my oyster. He has the same hope, determination and ambition I did.

I can just feel it. When I came back from studying in Europe, I was eager to get going, and not just because it made my father happy, but because it made me happy as well.

Still does.

I think Michael and I are going to work well together.

“So, Elijah Agnor, you are the advertising mogul that everyone has been raving about?”

I toss my head back and laugh. “Yeah, fair enough. You could call me that. I prefer to think of myself as a hard worker who always gets results.”

Michael nods as his eyes scan over the menu. We order a few chef recommended items from the menu and some of their finest wine. If Michael is going to have tastes this expensive already, then he’s going to have to work hard to make the money that he so desperately needs to keep himself afloat. Not that I’m going to be the one to warn him of that.

He won’t listen to me.

As the waiter brings over the food, we get back down to business, to the reason why we’re here. Michael has some great ideas for what he wants for his company, and what he expects from an advertising agency which are all pretty standard.

Yes, okay I’m starting to think he might be a little more pompous than I was at that age – a lot more actually – but we can make this work.

“Now, I have something important to ask you,” Michael suddenly says while leaning forwards to speak in a more secretive manner. “And this is very important because it’s something I have really struggled with along the way when it comes to advertising.”

I clasp my hands together determinedly. Whatever his issue is, I know I can fix it. I don’t have a great reputation for nothing, I have it because I know what I’m doing, and I only hire people who know what they are doing as well.

“Copywriting.” He nods at me. “Where the hell are all the decent copywriters these days?”

Holy shit, I wasn’t expecting him to say this! But that’s something I can definitely help with. Excitement zings through my veins as I eagerly give him what he wants.

“I actually have a great copywriter on the island with me.”
