To her surprise, he grabbed her hips and held them in place, slowing her down. Tess grabbed the sheet below her to get traction, trying to break free from his hands and make him go faster. His lips were nuzzling her breast again as she moaned, “Faster, please, faster.”

But he held back and was slowly sliding in and out, using his tongue to tease her nipples. Her body screamed for the release he was keeping from her. She slowly shook her head back and forth at the sensations he was sending through her body—she wanted more.

Finally, she let go of the sheets and grabbed his hands, pulling them away from her hips. Tess brought their joined hands over her head so that she could finally pick up the pace. Math closed his eyes and let out a slow breath. She could see his resolve breaking down, and almost immediately, he gave in and matched his rhythm with hers. Tess could feel herself spasming around him, groaning his name as she came. He soon followed, then rolled them onto their sides and caressed her spent body.

Once their breathing became even, and they were able to speak, he ran his hand down her side and touched her tattoo again. “I love when you can’t even make words because of what I’m doing to you.”

Tess sucked in a breath and flopped onto her back. She whispered to the ceiling, “Shit.”

Sitting up, he looked down at her in confusion. “I thought that was a good thing?”

Running her hands over her face, she was glad the only light in the room came from the doorway to the living room because she was blushing from head to toe. Everything she had said had been in Russian. No wonder he didn’t do anything she had asked him. Just like when she got mad, when she was having good sex, she had no time to translate before she spoke.

“It is a good thing; you make me forget how to speak.”English, she didn’t add as she smiled at him, hoping he wouldn’t notice it was fake.

“I noticed it the other times. You were more talkative this time.” He rolled over her again and kissed her.

Giving in to the kiss, she realized she would have to control her tongue when he was around. She did not want him to know about her past yet. She wasn’t ready to share everything with him.

CHAPTER18

The alarm wentoff at 6:00 am. Tess groaned and shut it off, snuggling further into the warm covers. Math watched her as she did it, but then again, he had been watching her for almost an hour. But now, she was supposed to be awake, so he was able to slide his hand up her body. No need to worry about waking her.

At his touch, she sat completely upright, pulling the sheet close to her as she looked around. Her gray eyes were on him for a moment before she flopped back down beside him. She sighed, “Mathias.”

“Did you forget I was here?” He ran a finger from her hairline to her chin.

She smiled at him. “For a moment. It has been a long time since I woke up with someone.”

“I could tell. Sometimes you’re jumpy,” he said and then kissed the woman.

He had not wanted last night to end, but it had. Early. After leaving her at her door with barely a goodbye, he made it halfway home before slamming on the brakes and turning his truck back toward town. If nothing else, he wanted to kiss her just once. Again.

Their date had gone better than he had ever thought it was going to go. Convinced that they would be at all-out war by the time they made it to Grand Forks, he had been surprised that she was interesting and easy to talk to. Every word she said made him realize how wrong he had been about her. And she seemed interested in him as well.

His biggest issue with her was that she was very guarded when it came to her family and her past. She was okay with telling a story from her childhood now and again, but nothing too deep. Nothing too personal. He wondered if there was something she was hiding. This morning, he didn’t care.

Cupping her butt, he pulled her body to his as he deepened the kiss. He was glad he came back. She felt as good against his body as she had last night. He had been nervous when he knocked on her door not ten minutes after dropping her off but was rewarded by her letting him in.

She pushed him out of her arms as her alarm went off again. Math tried to pull her back to him, but she squirmed away, giggling. “I have to get up. Work.”

He brushed a finger over her breast, then followed it with his lips, asking, “When do you have to be at work?”

Her fingers went into his hair. “7:45 am.”

“I think we have time. I’ll be quick. I swear,” he said as his hand glided down her body.

She made a noise he didn’t recognize and pushed him away again. “I have to be ready by seven. I call my mother every morning at seven.”

“Really quick?” He gently bit her nipple, making her groan.

“No, I should have set the alarm for earlier.” She scrubbed her hands over her face as he continued with her breasts.

“You should have told me. I was up an hour ago. I would have woken you.” Her body stilled under his.

“What did you do for an hour?” she whispered.

Pulling his eyes away from her glorious breast, he looked into her face as he replied, “I watched you sleep. You are beautiful when you sleep.”
