“And saw you getting a blow job and then went home afterwards to find out she was an orphan. Fucking hell, why didn’t you tell us this before?” Kane shouted.

I clenched my fists tightly. “Because it never happened. No wonder she doesn’t believe when my friends don’t.”

“She was going to give you everything,” Seb piped up, after being silent for a long time. “Is it what I think it is?”

I nodded. It was something I didn’t want to tell them.

“Her virginity…” Ryan sighed. “It makes sense because the last thing she said was ‘now I’ve got nothing left to give.’”

My breath hitched. “She’s had sex with someone else.”

Kane laughed. “You’re a fucking hypocrite. You expected her to remain pure. What for… You?”

Ryan cleared his throat. I turned to him. “I asked her what she meant, and she said ‘love’ she had no love to give. Something about her heart not working properly.”

“You don’t fucking deserve her. I’m not helping you. In fact, she’s mine, she always was and always will be,” Seb yelled as he picked up his glass and stormed out of the room. Then stormed back in a moment later. “Kane’s right. It’s probably the reason she’s on a death wish on that bike.” He pointed his finger at me. “You should be ashamed of yourself.”

I closed my eyes. “She blames me for not being in the car with them.” Something inside me broke and tears stormed down my face. “I’m trying to make it right. I've apologised to her, but I think she is adamant she is going to fuck with me before she finds out the truth. She is going to hurt me by doing what she thinks I did to her.

“She wants you to watch her coming,” Kane gloated.

“Or she wants to see you die,” Seb said with a harshness in his voice.

I glowered at Seb and shrugged my shoulders. “Maybe that’s it.”

“Shit, that’s horny as fuck,” Ryan said, and I glared as he laughed.

“Not the right time, Ryan,” I hissed.

“I’ll make her come. Everyone else can watch,” Seb offered. “I’m happy enough to know I can do it, but maybe you’d prefer to die.”

“I’m definitely up for watching,” Ryan said.

I glared at each of them but stayed silent as I wondered if this was what she wanted and if it was, could I handle it?

“You won’t get her back, though,” Seb said with a smirk.

I turned and looked at them one by one. “And you know the hierarchy of the kingdom we are all part of.”

“We also know Lacey will head it one day and she can make her own decisions.” Seb raised his eyes in a knowing way. I stared at him because I knew on her birthday Lacey disappeared at the same time as Seb, and I also knew something happened between them and he hadn’t talked about it.

“Not yet, not until she goes through with the ceremony and binds herself to someone. And that someone is me. I’m the one chosen.” I pointed to Seb. “Not you.”

Seb grinned. “I think you’ll find Lacey gets to choose that, too.”

“He is right,” Ryan said. “According to the rule book. If the royal line appeared, regardless of the man or woman chosen by the kingdom. He, or she in Lacey’s case, has the final decision.”

“Royal line?” Seb asked, narrowing his eyes at the term.

“I know little about it, but forgetting that, I think Lacey likes me and we have good chemistry. Maybe I’ll throw my hat in the ring.” Ryan pushed his fingers into his immaculate hair, brushing it back off his face.

“Ryan, you don’t stand a chance,” Kane said and laughed. “She needs someone like me, strong, determined, not someone who wants to wank off over her.”

“Or someone who pisses her off by calling her princess and thinks going all alpha will turn her on,” I smirked.

Kane glowered back at me before he laughed out loud. “You of all people call me.”

“I think this needs to calm down. It’s getting out of hand,” Ryan said.
