Chapter 7
Maverick
I’m shooting the shit with Widow when I glance up and see her. Who she is, I have no clue, but she’s fucking gorgeous. Her eyes lock on mine, and from across the room I can see her blue/green irises. Her hair is not red, but it’s not blonde either. It's a perfect mix of strawberries and cream and I wouldn’t mind wrapping that long hair around my fist. Her pink lips part as she stares at me. I’m not sure why, but I feel the uncontrollable need to touch her. Where did she come from? I could never forget a woman like her.
I have already tuned out Widow who muttered “Well fuck me” as he walked off and disappeared out the front door. I take a step when Dom walks up and says something in her ear. Dom knows her? He drags her towards the kitchen, but her eyes never leave mine. I follow behind to watch Dom, trying to get a gauge on who she is to him. I lean up against the door frame when Romeo steps up beside me.
He motions his head. “Dom’s sister is fucking hot.”
My head whips in his direction. “Sister?”
“Yeah, Dani brought her. Dom’s pissed.” He takes a drag off his cigarette. “I gotta say, I damn sure ain’t mad about it.”
I know that look. He didn’t get the name Romeo for nothing. I glare at him, and he takes the hint and leaves me by the door. His fucking sister.
Walking over I take another look at her as she argues with him and waves her hands in the air. This one’s a spitfire. I can tell.
“Dom,” I warn.
He glances over and shakes his head. “She’s leaving.”
She rolls her eyes and bites her bottom lip.
I raise a brow. “You going to introduce me?”
He points to her. “Maverick, this is my sister, Tanner. Tanner this is Maverick. Our Prez.”
Her eyes widen and she blinks a few times. “You’re Dani’s brother?”
I give her a head nod.
“Nice to meet you.” Her cheeks turn pink, and she bites that damn lip again.
I feel a hand latch onto my arm. “Will you please tell him it’s fine, that she can stay. My God, she’s with me!” Dani swings around in front of me, demanding my attention like usual.
“You need to take her home. You go home too.” I ordered.
She grits her teeth. “Zek-”
“Dani, do I look like I’m fucking playin’?”
She shakes her head and slams her shoulder into Dom as she stalks away. “Let me pee first T, then we will get out of here.”
“Dom, I need you out back, it’s Gerry,” Boston calls from the back door.
“Alright I’m coming.” He steps up to his sister. “I'll see you tomorrow. Do what he says.” He points in my direction.
He leaves out the back, and it’s just me and her in the kitchen. Her eyes trail over me. Can’t say I’m not doing the same thing to her. Isn’t she seventeen? Fuck.
“You don’t need to come here again.” I pull out a cigarette and bring it to my lips.
“I’m…. I’m sorry…Dani wanted me to…” She trails off and rubs her palms nervously on her thighs.
“Dani doesn’t run this club. I do.” I take a step towards her. I can’t help but inhale her scent that invades me when I step even closer.
Her eyes are fixated on my chest, so I tilt her chin with a knuckle. “Believe me little Vix, this place ain’t for you.”
She frowns and her eyes dart down to my lips, then back up to my eyes. I step back and wink at her as Dani comes back into the kitchen.
“Let's go, T. Apparently it’s asshole night anyway,” she snaps while glaring at me.
I watch them walk out the front door. I shift my stance. I’m so hard it's beginning to get uncomfortable. I adjust myself. I better get this managed before anything else. I look around the room and catch eyes with Roxy. She’ll do.
Twenty minutes later, I’m satisfied, and Roxy leaves my room as I step into the shower. The water runs down my inked skin and I stretch my neck to the side. Little Vixen. I close my eyes and see her. She’s got spirit. I can tell by her eyes, but she doesn’t belong here. Not in my world. Which is why I need to make sure she doesn’t come back. Not just for the sake of the club, but for my sanity. I can already tell, this girl screams trouble. If I’m not careful, my name too.
