My arm shoots out before he passes, my fingers digging into his upper arm.
“What are you hiding, Tobes?” My voice is damn near pleading, and I hate it. But fuck, I need to know what he’s keeping from me. What Galen is keeping from me despite my best attempts to get it out of him.
“Get the fuck off me. She doesn’t want you here, Seb. You should just go home.”
Releasing my hold on him, I hang my head as he storms off and slips into the room I so desperately want to be inside.
Knowing that she’s not alone, I take off toward the bathroom.
“ARGH,” I scream once I’m inside, my fist colliding with the wall, my healing knuckles immediately splitting open the moment they connect. “Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.”
Exhausted, I fall forward, pressing my forearms to the bloody wall and resting my head on them.
A sob rips up my throat, the sound echoing around me, tormenting me as burning hot tears fill my eyes.
This wasn’t how it was meant to go.
And I wasn’t meant to care this fucking much.
