“We didn’t live normal lives, babe. It’s not crazy that our relationship started in an unconventional way. Remind me to tell you how Luca and Romy got together. Or Lucky and Via. Or Matteo and Josie.”

“I would love to hear it. Maybe this would feel less crazy then.”

“Trust me, it will,” I assured her. “But, look, I get shit is fucked right now. So if you want to just… scale things back, I understand.”

“Scale things back,” she repeated. “No. No, I don’t want to do that. I’m just… I’m going to be off for a while.”

“Understandably so,” I agreed, wrapping an arm around her waist, giving her a squeeze. “But I’ve got nothing else going on. We can go at your pace.”

“I wouldn’t mind staying here for a day or two,” she admitted. “And by here, I mean right here in this tub,” she said, leaning her face into my neck and taking a deep breath. “Thank you for saving me.”

“You’ll never have to thank me for that.”

“Don’t say it like that. It sounds like I am going to need to be saved a lot in the future. And, quite frankly, I don’t think my nerves could handle that.”

“You’ll be safe now,” I assured her. “You’ve got me,” I told her, feeling her melt into me at the words. “And your brother,” I added, not wanting her to think I was all she had.

“Shh,” she said, shaking her head. “I don’t want to talk about him right now. I want to talk about you,” she said, voice dropping a bit lower. “In particular, I want to talk about… having you,” she said as her hand grabbed mine from her waist and started to slide it down her belly.

“Baby, we don’t have to,” I assured her, even if my straining cock had likely been telling her otherwise for a while already.

“I know. I just… it will be a fun distraction,” she said as she pressed my hand between her thighs, her back arching off of my chest and her breath escaping on a low moan at the contact.

And, hey, if my woman needed a distraction, who the hell was I to deny her one?
