“Oh, really? What are you going to tell Natalie when she shows up?”

Adelina shrugged her shoulders. “Nothing. I’m not making a move. I’m not assertive like that.”

Chastity completely understood her friend’s fear. She lived with that every day.

Adelina reached to her waist and turned toward the bar as she began to speak with one of the employees a moment. Her cell phone was somehow connected to every employee in the place as well as to Flynn and Jett. It was awesome technology, created and installed by Jett and Flynn’s friends, Cash Corbin and Zane Heston.

“Chastity?” She heard the voice and her entire body immediately went into protective mode. The nauseous, tight feeling in her belly and the fear gripped her insides.

Turning slowly, she locked gazes with Desi.

“I thought that was you. How are you, baby?” he asked then went to bend down to kiss her cheek. She moved to the side, causing him to stop, mid motion.

“What are you doing here?” she asked.

She looked at him. Bloodshot eyes, six feet tall, wide shoulders and deep brown eyes. His chiseled face gave an appearance of maturity and intensity. She wondered why she had fallen for his charms. He was a good-looking man, but he was a liar and a cheater. She needed to remember that.

“The question is, what are you doing here? This isn’t exactly a great place for someone like you.” He reached up to touch a strand of her hair. She pushed his hand away.

“Please leave, Desi. I don’t want to cause a scene.” She started to turn in her seat when he leaned over her back, placing his arms on either side of the bar, around her. She was closed in. His scent and his dominance were intimidating and scary. She feared this man. She got that instant creepy feeling whenever he was this close to her.

“Then don’t cause one. Come with me. We’ll go somewhere where we can talk.”

“No.”

“Chastity, is everything okay?” Adelina asked, holding her fingers to the earpiece. Chastity knew she was talking with security or someone who could intervene.

“Yes. Desi was just leaving.”

Desi stared at Adelina. “Give us a minute, doll. Chastity and I have something to discuss.”

He leaned forward and sniffed her hair, giving her the chills. When he gripped her shoulder hard, she tensed up and gasped. The warm breath against her ear sent shivers over her body.

“This isn’t over. You can do this the hard way, but I guarantee, it won’t be pretty, Chastity. Be smart. Come back to me and we’ll work it ou

t. Come on now. Let’s go.”

“No.” His threats and his tone brought tears to her eyes.

“Is there a problem here?”

She turned to see Jett and Flynn Greyson, along with two bouncers.

Adelina crossed her arms in front of her chest. “I do believe that this gentleman was just leaving. Alone,” she added with attitude.

“Sir, if you’ll please exit along with these gentlemen, it would be appreciated,” Flynn stated firmly.

Desi caressed Chastity’s hair and whispered into her ear, “I’ll be in touch.”

He stepped back and gave Flynn and Jett the once-over.

“I was just leaving, and it has nothing to do with you,” he said then smirked at Jett and Flynn as if they were diddly-squat.

Chastity watched Desi walk out with the two big bouncers following him. Adelina grabbed her hand and touched her shoulder.

“Are you okay? Did he hurt you when he grabbed your shoulder?”

“He touched her?”
