“Callie,” I say, sounding like I’ve just been told there’s water in the middle of the oasis. Yeah, I’m an idiot. “Please tell me you’re wearing panties?” I blurt out. Way to go! “I mean…I mean. Fuck. Um. Are you, okay?”

Her eyes light up with amusement. “No and yes.” She grins.

No and yes. What the hell…

I stand back slightly, and move my eyes slowly up her long legs, hips and torso until I reach her breasts. Her nipples are hard bullets giving away the fact she’s aroused, which is good news for me.

All I really want to do is throw her over my shoulder and carry her off to the back room, but that is so not going to happen. One reason, because I want her to meet Dal, and the other reason, the most important, because I don’t want her to think I want to be with her just for the sex. Yeah, the sex between us is good. In fact, it’s better than good. The best I’ve ever had. But she’s the first girl I’ve ever wanted more than a quick fuck with, and although I tried to show her that last weekend, it kinda backfired because I can’t keep my hands to myself.

“Aren’t you going to introduce us?” Dal asks, sliding her arm through mine. I clench my teeth as the light goes out of Callie’s eyes when she witnesses Dal’s possessiveness over me. This isn’t good.

“Dal, this is Callie. Callie, this is Dal.” I remove Dal’s arm from around mine and reach out to take hold of Callie’s hand, and sigh in relief when she doesn’t refuse me.

“We’re not on stage tonight,” I laugh. “Of course you knew that, right?” A

nd I’m an idiot.

“Yeah. I knew that.” She offers me a small smile.

“Can we go somewhere and talk? Please? Just you and me,” I beg.

She gazes into my eyes as though she’s trying to see inside me before she answers, “Yeah. Okay.”

Remembering Dal, I turn to look at her and I’m met with her pissed expression. Fuck! This is all I need. “Dal, I need to talk to Callie. I’ll catch up with you later.” I nod to Donovan who doesn’t give her time to think before dragging her toward the bar.

“You with me, babe?”

She grips my hand, taking a step closer; her nipples graze my chest giving me an instant erection. I release her hand and slide mine down her sides and come to a stop on her hips. Hips that have no material covering them.

“Callie. I don’t want to sort out whatever’s going on between us with sex. We need to talk…first.” I grin. “I’m not sure how I’m going to keep my hands to myself as long as you’re wearing that dress though because it gives me all kinds of wicked thoughts.”

“Hmm. Perhaps, I want you to have all those wicked thoughts.” She clears her throat. “Where do you want to go?”

“Let’s go round back. I only have my bike here and you’re dressed too sexy to sit on the back of it.”

She nods. Taking her hand again, I pull her with me to the back of the club for privacy, which we sure as hell wouldn’t get if we stayed out front. Not only is Dal glaring at us, but all the guys in the place are staring at Callie in the barely there dress.

I push the office door open, but someone is already using it and I don’t mean as an office is supposed to be used. We carry on out back, which isn’t ideal, but will have to do because I’m not prepared for another day to go by without talking to her. Being close to her.

“Over here.” The spot I’ve brought her to is slightly dark with a yellow glow from the light above the back door to the club. The only thing is, now I have her to myself I’m not sure what to say to her. What to say to make this right between us. I know what I want to do to her, but that will have to wait…at least until I’ve said my peace.

“Look, Dal has problems, okay. They are her story to tell, not mine. She’s a friend and has been for a long time, so you have to respect that. I haven’t lied to you about my relationship with her, and I only lied about the sleeping arrangements because I knew how it would look. She has nightmares and feels safer with me there. When it starts getting bad again that’s when she arranges a visit.”

I peer into her eyes, but they’re hidden by the darkness. “Back home everyone thinks she’s a booty call for me so we let them to save being asked questions. You’ve no idea how much I want to tell you what I’m talking about, but I promised her I wouldn’t tell anyone, and I can’t break that promise… You understand that, right?” I gently move the hair from her forehead as I move in closer. I’ve said my peace and now I need more of a connection between us. That she doesn’t move away is one of the best signs I’ve ever had.

“I’m going to trust you. I should have done before, but you told me one story and then Donovan blurted out another. I didn’t know what to believe. I was jealous, and if I’m honest, I still am, but that’s my problem, not yours.”

“No baby.” I lean in and give her a soft kiss to her lips. “It’s my problem as well. I needed to reassure you and instead I was a dick for not being completely honest.”

She sighs and runs her hands up and down my chest in a caress. “Does this mean we’re back together?”

“If you still want me.”

She doesn’t say anything, but she throws herself into my arms and seals her lips over mine. Our teeth clash as our tongues search for the other and tangle. She tastes damn good; her taste being something I’ve missed this past week. Her taste is intoxicating and I can’t get enough.

With her tongue down my throat, her hard as fuck nipples pressing tightly against my chest and my hand up her dress squeezing her butt, my dick feels ready to explode and probably won’t take much.

Pulling her mouth away, she says, “God, I’m itchy.”
