Bennett desperately wanted to go with her.

He turned his head and Kitty caught his gaze, her face paling.

Yes, you’re busted.

He closed the distance between them.

She schooled her face. “It’s Mr. Knightley, right? I—”

“You know exactly who I am. And I know what you are and what you’ve been doing.” He took her arm.

“Sir, let me go,” Kitty said with a gasp.

“Come quietly,” he said.

“I don’t think so.” She raised her voice. “Let me go. You’re hurting me!”

Heads turned.

“Kitty, you’re done. You’re going to jail for a long time.”

There was a flash of fear before she hid it with bravado. “No, I’m Lady Kitty Wentworth. I have coffee every week with the wife of the prime minister.”

“That’s not going to save you.”

“What’s going on?” Kitty’s husband arrived. “Release my wife.”

“Your wife is working with a known arms dealer who supplies terrorists.”

There were gasps from the people nearby. Ian Wentworth’s face darkened.

“And she’s been seducing young men for intel,” Bennett added.

Now Ian Wentworth’s face turned red.

Kitty gasped. “Howdareyou?”

Shit, they were wasting time. He needed to get to Hadley.

“Release her now,” Ian said. “Or I’ll have you arrested.”

Bennett sensed a presence at his elbow. He glanced sideways, and spotted Killian in a tux.

Another man appeared. It was David Farrell.

Hadley’s old boss flashed his badge. “SIS. I’m afraid we’ll be taking your wife into custody, Mr. Wentworth.”

The older man’s face twisted as he realized this was real.

Kitty’s face drained of color. “No. You can’t do this.”

“Shut up, Kitty,” Ian snapped.

“It’s not all fun and games now, is it?” Bennett swiveled to meet Killian’s gaze. “Hadley?”

“Ajay got spooked and ran. She’s chasing him in the street.”

Kitty made a sound. They all swiveled to look at her.
