“You know something,” Bennett said.

“I have nothing to say.” She lifted her pointy chin.

“We have recordings and evidence of what you’ve been doing,LadyWentworth.” Bennett let his gaze bore into her. “Talk. Now.”

Some of her bravado leaked out.

“Kitty,” her husband clipped. “If you know something—”

Her cheeks paled. “Nothing. Just that he wasn’t supposed to leave. He was supposed to stay in the theatre.”

“Why?” Bennett barked.

“That’s all I know.”

Unease coiled in Bennett. The exact same way he felt before a mission went to hell.

“Don’t worry,” Killian murmured. “Hadley isn’t alone. I called in another of my team. Bram is following them.”

Bennett nodded. “I’ll find them. You’ve got this?”

Killian inclined his head.

Swiveling, Bennett headed for the exit, guests parting for him. He hit the front doors of the theater and lifted his phone to his ear.

“Hello, billionaire hottie,” Hex’s voice said.

“Hex, talk to me!”

“They’re nearing the main square in Covent Garden. Bram’s about a block behind. He’s a big redhead. Can’t miss him.”

Bennett took off at a jog. He knew the maze of streets well. He pumped his arms and legs, moving into a sprint.

There were plenty of people around, but they darted out of his way. He raced out of a side street and into the main area of Covent Garden where the market buildings sat.

He spotted Hadley in one darkened corner and ran in that direction.

On the opposite side of the square, he saw a big form race out of another alley. It was the other Sentinel Security member, Bram “Excalibur” O’Donovan.

Hadley had Ajay cornered.

“Kitty’s been arrested. Come with me now and we’ll sort this out.” Her voice was calm, like she was placating a wild animal.

Ajay swallowed. “No. I…I love Kitty. We haven’t done anything wrong.”

Bennett walked closer. Ajay saw him and jolted.

“Mr. Knightley. I’m…I’m really sorry. I didn’t want to hurt you, or my friends at work, but Kitty said this was important. That Secura was supplying terrorists. She does favors for MI6 and I had to help her.”

Bennett growled, but Hadley held up a hand. “Ajay, Kitty isn’t MI6. She’s workingwiththe terrorists, and stealing from Secura.”

The younger man shook his head wildly. “No. You have it wrong.”

“What’s in the bag, Ajay?” Hadley asked.

“I don’t know. I was supposed to take it into the center of the theatre. Someone was going to meet me.”

Bennett’s heart thumped.L’Orage.
