She heard his deep voice as he answered the phone.

Hadley ended up dealing with more meetings and calls. She traded messages with Hex, pulling Kitty Wentworth’s life apart.

How the hell did a wealthy London society woman get involved with an arms dealer?

They’d find the connection.

Suddenly, she realized the office was emptying out.

“Hey, Halle.” Jack peered into her office, smiling. “A few of us are heading to a bar around the corner for an after-work drink. Keen?”

Not really. She wanted to check in with Bennett.

She glanced out her door and saw that his office door was closed.

It was important she connect with the Secura employees. Subtly probe to see if they had any information on who might be leaking information on the company.

“A drink sounds good. Thanks, Jack.”

He smiled, a flush on his cheeks. “Great.”

Soon, Hadley found herself in a snug little bar around the corner from the office. The group of Secura employees were mostly from the communications team.

Jack took a sip of his beer. “Long day.”

“The boss man still in the office?” someone asked.

“He’s there late nearly every night,” another woman said. “Classic workaholic.”

“He’s stressed about this shipment that went missing,” another man said.

“Pissed, you mean,” a woman noted.

Jack leaned forward. “I heard a whisper that maybe someone on the insideleakedthe shipment details.”

“No,” Penny, the assistant from the comms team, murmured.

Hadley paused, ensuring she wore a shocked expression. “Who? Everyone seems to love their jobs, and despite his workaholic tendencies, Bennett is a good boss.”

“With a fine arse,” Penny said.

Everyone looked at her. She froze mid sip of her cocktail. “Man, this is strong.” She shook the glass. “Did I say that thought out loud?”

“You’re not wrong, though,” another woman agreed.

“So who is leaking the shipment details? This Archie guy?” Hadley asked.

“Poor Archie,” Jack said. “I don’t know what the hell went wrong with him. If I’d had to pick anyone to leak company secrets, it wouldn’t have been Archie.”

“Maybe someone hacked the computer system?” Penny said.

“I don’t know,” an older guy grunted. “Bennett’s being shifty lately, secretive. Maybe he did it himself.”

There were scoffing sounds around the table.

“It’s his company,” Jack exclaimed.

“He’s SAS,” the old guy said. “Nothing gets past the SAS. Have you seen him? He’s alert. Always knows what the hell’s going on.”
