A picture popped up of a couple. The woman looked to be about fifty, with beautifully dyed, blonde hair, and looked well-groomed. She had high cheekbones and a charming smile.

“Shit. She has to be twice Archie’s age,” Bennett said.

Hex continued, “Lady Kitty Wentworth, wife of—”

“Ian Wentworth,” Bennett said. “I’ve met him. He’s friends with the prime minister. God.”

“So why does Kitty Wentworth want to seduce Archie?” Hadley said.

“To get access to Secura,” Hex said.

“She’s working with an arms dealer?” Bennett asked skeptically.

Hadley crossed her arms. “Anyone can be radicalized. Even bored, rich housewives looking for some excitement in their lives.” Hadley paused for a moment. “Or she could be a plant.”

Hex made a sound. “I highly doubt some British society woman is a foreign agent.”

“It’s happened before.”

The ice in Hadley’s tone made him look at her. He saw a fine tension in her body.

“Hex, run her,” Hadley said. “There must be a link to L’Orage.”

“I’ve got something else,” Hex said. “Kitty Wentworth is at a luncheon today at Scott’s Restaurant, if you want to get a closer look at her.”

Scott’s was London’s best seafood restaurant, located in Mayfair.

“I do,” Bennett growled, looking at Hadley. “Hungry?”

She cocked a brow. “You can get a table at Scott’s at the last minute?”

He smiled. “There are some benefits to being a hottie billionaire.”

CHAPTERFOUR

Hadley stood outside the Secura office, as she waited for Bennett’s car to be brought around. She was on her phone, firing off a few messages to Hex for more info she needed.

He was standing beside her, hands on his hips and staring sightlessly at the traffic on the street. He’d put his suit jacket on, and of course, it made him look hotter. She wondered what would make him look less hot.

Doesn’t matter how hot the man is, Hadley. You’ve seen plenty of hot guys, you’ve dated some, slept with a few. So what?

There were other qualities she valued more than how good a man looked.

A muscle ticked in his jaw. He was upset. That, she understood. Someone was targeting his company. She knew enough now to understand that it wasn’t about the money. She suspected he was angrier that his shipments weren’t getting to those who needed them.

Knightley wasn’t like most very wealthy men she knew.

“Do you want to talk about it?” she asked.

“No.”

“Do you want to swan into the best seafood restaurant in London, looking like a thundercloud?”

He blew out a breath and tossed her an annoyed look.

Damn, that made him look hotter, too. “I know you’re pissed that L’Orage has infiltrated your company—”

Bennett sliced a hand through the air. “It’s not just that. Archie’s…impressionable, but a decent guy. They used him. This Wentworth woman screwed him over.”
