I blink, surprised by his words.
“Momma, Dadda, look,” Anthony cries as he rushes into the room. I pull away from Alessio, gladly putting distance between us. Right now, he’s acting crazy. I turn my attention to my baby, who’s happily showing us his drawing.
I hear car doors closing, and my brows knit together. Who could that be? The doorbell rings, and I turn to Alessio, who’s already moving toward the door.
“That’s my brothers,” he says casually.
I stand rooted to the spot. What the fuck? He’s brought his brothers to my house? Is he for fucking real?
Chapter 16
Alessio
“What the fuck is wrong with you Bianchis?” Raylee snarls as she pushes past Makenna and toward me. “Since when do you think it’s a good idea to barge into someone’s house unannounced? This doesn’t concern you.”
“Um,” Makenna says bitchily, no doubt pissed at the disrespect Raylee’s just shown her and Dante. “Want to watch your tone? And for your information, this is our business, because Alessio is our business.”
Raylee moves so she’s standing beside me, crosses her arms over her chest, and glares at my sister-in-law. “Yeah, well, Alessio doesn’t own this house. Last time I checked, it was Gabby’s name on the deed, so again, not your business.”
Malcolm steps forward and draws his wife into his arms. “Raylee’s upset. What would you do if it was Kinsley in Gabby’s position, Kenna?”
My sister-in-law’s shoulders slump slightly. “Fine,” she snaps. “But I’m reserving judgment on her. I don’t like her right now.”
“That’s nice,” Gabriella says from behind me, a sweet fucking smile on her face. “No one asked you to like me. I sure as fuck don’t like you right now.”
I press my lips together to stop the laughter from bursting forth. The one thing Makenna respects is strength. Having Gabriella stand up for herself will show my sister-in-law she’s not one to be pushed around. Makenna smirks, and I know she’s already on her way to winning her round.
“So,” Raylee says. “Can we come in?”
Gabriella rolls her eyes. “Like you even have to ask, Ray-Ray.” She smiles, and within seconds, the two girls are embracing one another. “How’s the kids?” she asks as she leads everyone into the sitting room, where Anthony is currently drawing.
“Good, they’re with Kiro,” Raylee says, talking about one of her brothers. I haven’t met any of Raylee’s family as of yet, but from what I’ve heard, they’re okay. Tough as fuck and good bosses.
“Who’d have thought he’d be the one who would look after them,” Malcolm says as he pulls Gabriella in for a hug. They’re close, from what Makenna and Denis have said about them. When Raylee and Malcolm were going through their shit, Gabriella was right by their side.
“He loves them because he loves his sister.”
Mal nods and moves toward my son, scooping him off the ground and throwing him in the air. Anthony laughs.
“Mal,” he giggles. “Again.”
“God, it’s been a while,” Raylee says. “How are you holding up?”
“About as good as expected. Dad’s pissed.”
“You told him?” Malcolm asks, his brows knitted together. “Fuck, Gabs, is he coming here?”
My woman shrugs. “I don’t know. I ended the call before he could speak. That was close to two hours ago now.”
“You do that a lot to him,” Raylee murmurs. “You get annoyed and end the call.”
Gabriella shrugs. “He was angry, and I was an emotional wreck. I couldn’t listen to it. I wouldn’t listen to it while on speaker in the car. I didn’t want Anthony overhearing.”
“Better pray, Alessio, that Gabby’s da doesn’t make an appearance.” Malcolm grins as he glances at me. He’s uneasy. I get it. Gabriella’s his woman’s best friend, they’re close like sisters, and he considers Gabriella one too. He also knows me and knows what I’m like. His mind must be running wild. No doubt he wants to tell me to leave Gabriella alone, while on the other hand, knowing if he did, I’d knock his teeth down the back of his throat.
“Who’s your da?” Makenna questions, still holding that bitchy tone.
I glance at her, but she ignores me and continues to glare at my woman. Shit. This could go very wrong.
