She was tall and willowy, with long legs and a perfectly oval face and what had to be the most gorgeous features I’d ever seen. Her lips were full and red, her nose small and slightly upturned, her eyes a brilliant green. Oak-brown hair chopped into a stylish bob framed her face.
And that was to say nothing of her body. Her style was interesting—eclectic, maybe even thrift-store clothing, but chosen perfectly in a precise blend of Brooklyn-stylish and Manhattan-professional. And though she was dressed fairly modestly, I could tell there was a killer body beneath that outfit.
It took all the restraint I had not to react to the picture of beauty before me.
The woman latched her eyes onto me, her expression careful and willful all at once.
“This is Ms. April Flowers,” said Shauna. “The interview for the nanny position.”
April and Shauna stepped over to me, my gaze on April the entire time. She extended her slim delicate hand, and I took it.
“April,” she said with an even, confident voice. “A pleasure to meet you, Mr. Ryder.”
“Likewise, April. I assure you, the pleasure is all mine.”
