That was all the incentive I needed. Up and down, I moved on his cock, rubbing my clit against him when I wanted and reveling in the noises he made. They told me he was mine in that moment. Griffin belonged to me right then, if only right then, and I would revel in every second of it. The thought made me grind against him harder. He cried out, his hips buckling as he pushed his cock even further inside of me.

Over and over, we found our rhythm until I had to touch my own breasts, had to squeeze them to take away the ache that I couldn’t lose. He grabbed my hands, pulling them away. “I do that.”

Well, if he insists.Griffin took over, grabbing my breasts in his strong palms pinching my nipples. I cried out. Yes, right then I’d needed the relief that pinch of pain could give me. I couldn’t explain it. I just did.

I closed my eyes. The pinch had taken me out of my head enough so I could lose myself in the sensations. I rode him as if we’d danced a million times. I just knew how. It was natural, as if Griffin had been my lover a long time. I loved it.

My orgasm hit me all of a sudden, but not like the earlier explosion to release pressure, more like a release. One second after another, my pleasure seeped out of my soul until tears leaked from my eyes, and I cried my release on the edge of my tears.

Griffin followed me, his loud moans telling me he also skated the edge before following me over.

I collapsed on top of him, breathing heavily. For long seconds, he held me, and I closed my eyes. I forgot that he’d died in a coffin. I forgot he wasn’t the Griffin I had known forever. None of that mattered. There was just this Griffin, and he was all that I needed.

We breathed together.

I could completely fall asleep like this. It would be so easy. I could…

Griffin pulled out of me, setting me gently on the couch and crossing, totally naked to a bag on the other side of the vehicle. He pulled out clothes and dressed himself, not saying a word or looking back.

I winced at the sight. That’s right; he’s a vampire. He wasn’t going to give a shit, not really, about what they had just done.Silly me for forgetting for a long moment. It was fine to enjoy these guys, but absolutely not okay to start warm sentiments that might turn into love. Sex was sex. Vampires had it all the time with the paramours, and it would never be anything other than that.

Sighing internally, I forced the ball of feelings down into my stomach.I’ve gotten good at that over the years.

I didn’t have fresh clothes to wear, so I stretched out my legs and did my best impression of nonchalance. “One of you needs to give me a shirt and a pair of shorts. I’m without a change of clothes right now.”

“Grab my bag,” Caesar told me. “Take what you want. We’ll get you clothes soon.”

I looked over at him.Fuck. I’d completely forgotten him during my little romp with Griffin. Was he okay with the fact he’d just had to listen to that? Well, yes, he probably was. Again, I had to remind myself vampires didn’t have feelings like humans. He said he and Griffin plan to keep me together. That must mean they’re both fine with this.

I rose, and with confidence I didn’t feel, I walked to Caesar’s bag.Fine. I’m naked. That is fine. It isfine. I’m fine. It’s all fine. Naked is fine. Sure it is. Fine. Fine. Fine.

Caesar stopped for gas in a town called Ogden, and I learned we were actually in Utah. The realization stunned me—we’d actually crossed states. Griffin took over as driver, and Caesar came back to join me.

The vampire I just had sex with went even quieter than usual afterward.Did I do something wrong?I really didn’t know if I wanted the answer.

Ignorance really could be bliss sometimes.

Caesar sat next to me on the couch, knocking me out of my musings. “Have you eaten?”

Several hours earlier, I’d had some crackers and cheese, but it was almost morning. “I did.”

He nodded. “Good. We’ll have to get in the coffins soon. You’ll drive to an address I’ve set up on my phone, an Airbnb Griffin found for you. After you park there, you can head inside for the day. Leave us locked in here, so if there are any video cameras on the house, it just looks like you parked and went inside.”

I supposed it made sense. “Better than stopping some place for the night with this thing? Like a mobile home park?”

“I prefer fewer people around, because this isn’t how we normally travel. There are hotels that cater to our kind and keep specific rooms for vampires entirely dark. That’s how both Griffin and I got here. We also travel faster than this in regular cars, but we needed to stay out of those hotels. I don’t want any other vampires spotting you, so this was my best solution. Given more time, I might come up with better ideas, but this works for now. I think.”

“It’s a good solution,” Griffin supplied from the front seat.

“So, your voice does work? I wasn’t sure.” I called out to him, and Caesar’s mouth twitched into a grin.

“What should I be saying?” Griffin asked after a long moment.

I held up my hand, not that he’d see it. “Nothing. Please, don’t say a word.”

Caesar laced our fingers together, lowering my hand from where I’d lifted it to hold it up. “The town is called Rock Springs. I don’t think you need anything, but if you do, it’s big enough for you to get it. Might be kind of awkward to move this around town with us in the coffins but do what you must. We’ll never know.”
