“She ran away,” he said. “She’s not there.”

“Oh, did she?” I growled. My hands shook as I slammed the closet door open. It was empty. “We need to find her before any other alphas smell her scent. She’s in danger.”

“If you didn’t throw her away, this would never have happened,” said Tony, his hands balled into fists. “If something happens to her, Grant…”

“Then what?” I said, surprised at his challenge.

Tony didn’t answer the question as he stalked out the front door in search of Tiana.

“Let’s go find her,” said Sam. “By the time we kill each other for her, she’ll end up in the wrong hands.”

I nodded, ready to kill whoever touched my omega.

After searching the island for an hour, we finally found her. Tiana was talking to an older woman with dreadlocks and a necklace of beads all over her neck. The woman was sitting under a palm tree atop a rug with her merchandise of jewelry, herbs, and pills sprawled all over it. She was the witch woman of Howl’s Edge. I always stayed far away from Zeneesha. The only thing she was useful for was concocting omega pills and any natural medicines that the people needed.

“I’ll go to talk to Tiana,” said Tony. “You’ll only scare her off.”

“No, I’ll do it,” I said, barreling straight in her direction.

It was as if she sensed I was coming toward her.

Tiana immediately turned and started running between the palm trees.

I gave chase. She was swift, but I was faster. She was holding up her dress, showing off her thick shapely thighs. The wolf in me was thrilled to chase this omega.

To earn his prize.

My legs pumped harder, catching up with her.

“Tiana!” I shouted, grabbing her arm. She fell, and I rolled underneath her to soften her fall, pulling her on top of me.

“Let me go!” she gasped, punching my chest with her small fists. I rolled around, pinning her under me. I could smell her musky omega scent. It drove my wolf crazy smelling her. I was already acquainted with her scent of arousal.

My hardened cock pressed against her belly.

Chapter 17

Tiana

Iwiggledandsquirmed,trying to get out.

“I’m sorry, Tiana,” Grant said gruffly.

“Sorry for what? For kidnapping or selling me as a sex slave to a psycho werewolf?” I demanded, breathless and getting tired of him.

There was a muscle-packed werewolf on top of me. And it was hard to think clearly under the hot sun.

He was looking at me intently, probably hoping I’d forgive him easily.

“I’m sorry for everything,” he replied. “I made a mistake. I signed up to get you because I grew up poor my whole life on this island. I’m serious when I say this, Tiana. I’ll never disappoint you again or put you in harm’s way. Ever again.”

"What do you mean you 'signed up to get me’?"

"Years ago, when I was fifteen, it was big news when a midwife was charged for not registering a baby to Howl's Edge. She finally confessed that the parents had run away and they had an omega child," he said.

"What do you mean?"

"It's the law for every baby to be registered on the island to be accounted for. So they can keep track of omegas. Jatix was twenty back then and announced to the island that he would give away mansions and land to anyone who found the omega."
