“Yes,” she says, bouncing up and down in a tight tank top that does little to hide her nice tits. I groan and pull her to me. “Hey, I’m not looking for that ride right now, mister.”

“I know, beautiful, but your tits are bouncing in my face, and hell if I’m not turned on.” I grind my cock on her because hell, it’s always hard.

“You can have me later, but you promised me, and then we have to go hang out at the clubhouse.” She likes hanging out with the girls and whoever’s around. I love the bonding too because it will seal her to me. I haven’t proposed yet even though I want to beg her to be my wife. I’ve picked out the ring yesterday with the help of my amazing sister, and I plan to ask her tonight when we get home.

“That we do, my sexy little kitten. Are you ready?” She turns her head to the side and gives me a grin.

“Absolutely.” I take her by the hand and wrap her up in my leather Steele Rider-patched jacket. “Ooh, this is nice. Has any of your exes worn this?” That jealousy pout looks sexy on her, but she’s got no reason for it.

I grab her by the lapels and bring her close. “This is meant for my wife only.”

“Oh.”

“Don’t act like that comes as a surprise to you. We’re getting married as soon as I get you a pretty ring and I meet your family.”

“I haven’t told them about you yet.”

“Are they going to have a problem with my age?” Her grandparents were upset that Vanessa didn’t stop Margie from using the drugs. Of course Vanessa left out the part about the attack on her, so they didn’t know all the details, but still it’s not her fault or responsibility. I don’t know what her grandparents expected by her coming to stay with the aunt, but it wasn’t like a miracle would happen overnight.

“No, it’s not that.”

“What is it?”

“You’re not a doctor, or better yet, you don’t have a doctor’s salary. My grandparents want me to be taken care of financially, so they are extremely paranoid about me ending up with someone they consider a loser. It’s why they pushed Michael on me. He’s got big money.”

“You don’t have to worry about money, love. I don’t just do this job because I need to earn a living. A lot of us invested wisely while we were overseas.”

“I’m not worried about money, Jake. It’s not about that for me, and besides, I know the truth. Listen, I get that when I was younger, I’d been a bitch to Mack, and it took my attack to get my head out of my ass, but that’s because my grandparents had a hard time with my mother. When she met my father he was from the other side of the tracks as they say. They liked him and so they had no problem with them dating until my mom was seventeen and pregnant and my father couldn’t hold down a job to save his life.” I knew they had problems, but I didn’t know the details.

She sits on the bed and sighs, “They continued to live like vagabonds, going from one dead-end job to another, rundown apartment to the next while our lives were shittier and shittier. My grandparents tried to intervene and take care of me, but my parents only wanted money from them. When they couldn’t get anymore money to buy drugs and booze, they cut off all contact and told me my grandparents wanted nothing to do with me. By the time I was eight, my father got drug and stoned and beat my mother death in a drunken fight before OD’ing an hour later on fentanyl.”

“I’m so sorry, my love.”

“So when I seen my aunt, I wasn’t upset, I was disgusted. She knew what this life would bring and didn’t care. My grandparents took me in and wanted nothing to do with anyone beneath them again. I know that sounds harsh and prejudice as hell, but for a long time, it made me feel safe, secure. I was raised that I was better than everyone else—untouchable. I learned the hard way that your life is fragile and can turn to nothing at the drop of a hat.” I can see it took her a lot to confess that part of her past that has long been forgiven, but maybe she hasn’t forgiven herself.

I pull her into my arms by the lapels of the leather jacket and crush her lips to mine. When I release her mouth, I say, “Vanessa, you’ve grown up to be an amazing woman. I love you.”

“I love you, Jacob.”

“It’s time for that ride, my little hellcat.” I take her hand and lead her out to my motorcycle. Grabbing the helmet that I picked out for her; I pop it on her pretty little head and adjust the straps before sliding onto the front of the seat. Taking her hand, I lift her over the seat and have her straddle it.
