He frowned. “Did I scare you?”

“Not even a little bit.”

He nodded to the wall. “I’ll fix that tomorrow.”

“It’s your room, honey. Do what you gotta do.” I settled my hands on my hips. “Are you going somewhere?”

“No, why?”

“Because you’ve got pants on.”

He chuckled. “Nah, was just gonna go downstairs to get wine and food to bring up.”

I grinned. “Oh, that sounds perfect.”

“Be right back.”

Except, he wasn’t right back. Twenty minutes passed and he hadn’t returned, so I sent a text and waited another ten minutes before pulling on a pair of Wrath’s sweatpants and making my way to the door.

I pulled it open just as he was halfway down the hall.

“I thought you got lost,” I joked.

“Sorry. Teddy called in his pinball game… or games, as the case may be,” he said.

“It’s sweet that you make him a priority.”

“He’s important to me,” he said, as he walked into the room with a bottle of wine and a bunch of snacks that would add more than a few pounds to my butt, along with a few beers for himself, and kicked the door closed. “I always make people who are important to me a priority. Now, why are you dressed?”

“Um,hello, you didn’t respond to my texts, so I was going to come and find you.”

He chuckled, leaning down to kiss my cheek. “My phone’s up here.”

“Oh.”

“Love that you’re wearing my clothes, Moonbeam.”

I grinned. “I might make it a thing.”

“Now, get naked,” he ordered, then we sat on his bed and turned a stupid action flick on with the sound down low.

“How was lunch?” he asked.

I smiled. “It was fun.”

Wrath rolled his eyes.

“Tell me more about Scrappy,” I said.

“What do you want to know?”

“Whatever you want to tell me.” I met his eyes. “I feel like an idiot for not getting to know him better.”

“That’s on me, baby. I told him hands off.”

“But you didn’t tell Scooby that?”

“Scooby didn’t fall in love with you as soon as he met you.”
