“Yeah, you are.”

“No, I’m not.”

He paused on the stairs, turning to face me. “Let me be clear. We’re not gonna fuck tonight, Sierra. You’re gonna take a long hot soak in my tub, then you’re gonna put on one o’ my tees and curl upagainst me so I can hold you. We’re just gonna sleep.”

“We are?”

“Yeah.”

Jesus, the man could be seriously sweet when he wanted to be.

“I’m gonna soak, withwine and food,” I corrected. “It’s been a long fucking day.”

“I can make that happen.”

“Wrath!”

We turned to find Wyatt’s brother, Teddy, whom the club called ‘Shotgun,’ ambling toward us. Wrath walked down the steps and met him halfway with a grin. “Hey, buddy, how ya doin’?”

Teddy was an adult with learning difficulties, and he lived full-time with Sundance and Wyatt instead of an assisted living facility. He and Wrath had apparently grown super close while I was away.

“Are we gonna play pinball?” he asked.

“I was gonna spend some time with my girl, buddy,” Wrath said. “Do you remember Sierra?”

Teddy glanced at me with trepidation. He hadn’t seen me in a long time, and I knew he had some memory issues, so I tried to smile gently so I didn’t agitate him.

“Hi, Shotgun, it’s good to see you again.”

He gave me a quick, nervous wave. “Hi.”

“I promise we’ll play pinball soon, okay?” Wrath said.

“When?”

“How about tomorrow night?”

Teddy glanced at me, then focused on Wrathagain. “Okay, Wrath. Tomorrow.”

He turned and walked away, and Wrath relaxed, facing me again. “That coulda gone badly. Let’s go before he changes his mind.”

“Sierra,” Raquel called, and I turned to see her jogging toward me.

“Jesus, fuckin’ Christ,” Wrath hissed under his breath.

“Hey, honey.” I descended the stairs to meet her. “You okay?”

“Yeah. Ori and I are heading home. Do you want to come with us?”

“She’s staying with me,” Wrath said.

“Not if she doesn’t want to,” Raquel countered.

“I’m good,” I said. “All my stuff’s here, but I’ll call you if I change my mind.”

She raised an eyebrow. “Are you sure?”

“She’s sure,” Wrath growled.
