“Don’t worry about it. Let’s get you up to your room.”

Tessa is beside me. “Lucas, I can—”

I catch the girl as she falls out the door and scoop her up. “Okay, Harper, you need to throw up again, you tell me, okay?”

I look back to make sure my little drunks are following, and then Harper throws up on me before her head flops against my chest.

Ava starts laughing hysterically, and so does Logan.

“Shirt, Logan.”

“It’s cold, Dad.”

“I need something to clean her up. Ava, pull my shirt over my head.”

“I don’t wanna touch it,” she whines, but she does as I ask.

I hear feet racing from behind us when Ava pulls my shirt over my head.

“I’ll take her.” Maddox reaches for her.

“I’m already soiled.”

“Oh my God,” Tessa gasps when she sees the barf on my shirt. She covers her mouth. “I’m so sorry.”

“Your kid’s a lightweight, Tessa. Must be genetic. She only had four drinks, and she’s wasted.”

Maddox takes her, and I pull my shirt the rest of the way off and toss it before we step in the elevator.

“Mom?”

“Right here, Harper.”

“Tell Ma … Ma … Maddox to let me down …” And … she passes out.

As we step out and head to our rooms, I look at Tessa. “All right, looks like two of us need a shower before José gets here.”

“I’m probably gonna help Harper. She’s kind of upset with Maddox.”

“I understand. I’d do the same thing.”

“Logan? You and I need to chat.” I point to the room.

He’s chuckling when we walk in.

“How much did you drink?” I ask as I shut the door behind me.

“Five? Six? It’s no big deal, Dad. I’m—”

“It is a big deal, Logan—you’re a minor.”

“You always said you’d rather I experiment at home than at a party and get in a car and—”

“Okay, yeah, I did. But Logan, at a public event? Come on. That’s not cool.”

He lies on the bed. “Fine. You wanna drink now? I bet I can drink you under the table.”

“I’m gonna shower. You stay put.”
