We all stand around, listening to music, and I about shit my pants when “I touch myself” isblasted.

“Thank God we don’t have normal neighbors, huh, Jade?” Ava laughs.

Alex shakes his head, trying to hide a smile.

“Yeah.” I can’t help but smile, remembering the first time Tessa sang that song to me.

After several songs, Ava looks at me. “This is terrible.”

We all laugh.

“I’m gonna fix this garbage.” Ava runs into the house to change the music.

We all plan what to do upon Tessa, her kids, and Maggie and John’s return. None of us want Tessa to come home and feel the need to go overboard.

Like that would stop her.

The music changes, and Lit blasts through the speakers playing, “My Own Worst Enemy.”

I smirk as Ryan hands out another round of beers while singing.

When Ava runs out, he grabs her, starts dancing with her, and she laughs. God, I love my kid.

“Come on, Links,” Ryan yells.

I grab Jade and Phoebe, singing, “I didn’t mean to call you that. I can’t remember what was said or what you threw at me.”

In seconds, Phoebe has Alex up, and we are all acting like kids again.

“Please tell me, please tell me, why the car is in the damn tree,” I begin. “And I’m seeing sets of boobies, streaking through the farmyard, last night, and you’re gone, gone.”

Phoebe smacks me, and Alex and Jade both bust up. The chorus repeats, and we all sing my rendition of the song, referring to a memorable night over twenty years.

When the song stops, another one starts.

“Oh, hell yeah!” Jade laughs. “Take a look at me. Tell me do you like what you see. Do you think you can, do you think you can.”

Ryan grabs her. “I sure can, beautiful girl.”

“What the hell is this?” Liam laughs as he walks over.

“Back stage, underage adolescent. How ya doin’? Fine, she replied. I like to do the wild thing. Action took place. Kinda wet. Don’t forget. The J, the A, the D, the E. Yo, I need a body bag.”

“Aunt Jade!” Liam gasps.

“You wanna dance, Liam?” Ava grins.

“No, he doesn’t.” I grab her.

She scrunches up her nose. “You gonna dance with me to this song, Dad? Kind of gross, isn’t it?”

When the song ends, I cringe when I hear “Crazy Bitch”blast, and for the first time in my life, I hate this song.

“Ava, why don’t you change this?” I ask.

“Hey, you’re a crazy bitch—”

“Ava now!” I demand when she starts to sing.
