He looked into her eyes. “Later I’m going to explore, but right now I need you too badly.” He hooked her leg with his arm and notched his erection at her entrance.

“Later I get to explore too.” She took him in hand and arched up, rubbing him on her before letting the tip enter her.

“It’s a deal,” he said as he pushed slowly into her.

It was like heaven, a snug, warm, delicious paradise.

She wrapped her legs around his waist, pulling him down to her. She placed a nibbling kiss over his tattoo. “Tribal,” she murmured against his skin. “I should have known.”

“Ortiz and I got matching tattoos when we turned eighteen. To have a link, so that we’d never grow apart.”

She kissed up his neck. “So I should know you’re serious if you suggest getting a tattoo?”

“I’m serious, period.”

She paused, her hands twining in his braids. “Kiss me,” she said finally.

He did—over and over until neither one of them had coherent words and their cries echoed off the walls of the bedroom.

Jules left the office and took a cab back to Danny’s hotel.Backto his hotel because she’d spent the night—and most of the morning—with him.

She’d never done that before. Ever. She’d planned on staying but it hadn’t prepared her for the reality of how she’d feel in the moment.

She’d liked it. A lot.

More than that, she looked forward to doing it again tonight. She couldn’t wait to lie naked with him, skin to skin, limbs tangled.

He’d woken her up in the night—twice—once making love to her slowly until she could barely breathe. The second time had been urgent, an energetic bout that’d left them both sweaty and panting. Then he’d carried her to the shower and took her again, standing under the rainfall shower fixture, before taking her back to bed and holding her until she fell back asleep.

In the morning, it’d been her turn to explore him. She had, and she planned on doing it again that night.

He was outside waiting for her, like they’d planned that morning. When her taxi pulled up, he strode over and hopped in, setting the wine he was carrying on the floor by his feet.

“Hi,” he said with his amazing smile, leaning in to press a kiss to her lips.

She expected it to be a pleasant hello kiss, but the moment their lips touched, it flared into a towering inferno. She reached up, taking hold of his braids—hereallyliked that—and drew him closer.

He broke the kiss reluctantly, touching the side of her neck. “If we stop now, I think I can calm my body down by the time we reach your friends’ house.”

She laughed softly. “That’d be awkward.”

“No kidding.” He smiled at her, taking her hand and holding it on his thigh. “You get your work done?”

“Work is never done,” she said drily. She hadn’t been there as long as she normally would have been on a Saturday, just long enough to make sure her presence was known. She’d gone home to change her clothes after she’d left Danny that morning (it would have sparked a lot of gossip if she’d gone in yesterday’s outfit) so she hadn’t gotten there until after one.

For the first time ever, she hadn’t felt like working. She’d caught herself daydreaming all afternoon, wondering what Danny was up to, if he was at the hotel, if he was naked… It’d taken all her self-control not to text him.

“Is there anything I should know before we arrive?” he asked.

She shook her head. “Just that they’ll interrogate you.”

“Of course they will. They care about you.” He smiled. “Wait till you meet Ortiz. That man has no boundaries.”

She smiled even though she thought it was unlikely that she’d ever meet Danny’s best friend. “Louisa looks like Rihanna.”

“Really?” When she nodded, he asked, “What does Connor look like?”
