CHAPTER25

Marigold

Two Weeks Later

“Do you think it’s smaller? It looks smaller, doesn’t it?”

I stretch out on Slater’s bed, looking at the crazy man staring at his dick in the mirror. I’m on day three of vacation and operation let Bat-Boy destroy me for any other man. The two of us have spent most of the last two weeks together, actually. Although, we’ve been at his place instead of Mom’s. Neither one of us are ready to relive that nightmare again. Besides, I’m pretty sure Jansen’s busy proving that Mom doesn’t need a substitute in the bedroom, and no girl wants to be around when their parents are doing that kind of thing.

It’s so working.

Of course, he’s terrified Mom’s crazy concoction has done some kind of permanent damage to the length of his cock. Yet, he’s kind of cute even when he’s doing that, so I don’t mind so much.

“You didn’t feel any different inside me,” I offer. “Still fucking spectacular,” I practically purr, as I stretch.

I’m a little sore between my legs, so I’m not lying. I’m also wet, proving that I may never get enough of Slater Daniels in this lifetime. Slater thankfully turns away from the mirror and comes over to lay on the bed with me. I swear, the man has a king size bed and yet the minute he gets in it with me, it’s like he swallows all the space. He pulls me into his arms, and I drape my leg over his hip so that I’m closer. My hands glide against his strong chest, moving down to his abdomen.

“Spectacular, you say,” he murmurs. “You’re good for a man’s ego, Ace.”

“Just being honest. This has been a really great two weeks, baby.” I tilt my head back giving him a sign of what I want without asking. Slater understands because he bends down and kisses me. I let my tongue run along his bottom lip, sucking inside my mouth, and tasting him. I nibble on it, letting my teeth torture the soft flesh, before regretfully letting go.

“It sure has. Don’t go back to Mason, Marigold. I want you here with me.”

“My job is in Mason, though.”

“So don’t go back to work. You don’t really need to. I saw the check you got from your writing last week. With what you make and what I make, we can do it. You can concentrate on your writing because I’ve seen how much you love it.”

“You have, huh?”

“Baby, you get excited and make the silliest faces while you’re writing. It’s like the stuff you type into the computer comes alive for you. I see the joy in you because it’s the same thing I feel when I’m out there on the field. Everyone should get a chance to concentrate on their dreams. You need to do it. If you don’t, you’ll always regret it.”

“You better be careful, Bat-Boy. The way you’re talking sounds kind of permanent.”

“That’s because it is. You may not be ready for marriage and I’m okay with that, but I’m ready to keep going on this ride with you, wherever that takes us. I don’t worry about it. I know when it’s all said and done, we’ll be on the ride together.

“I feel. like we will be, too,” I admit.

“Then, what’s the point of waiting? The holidays are coming soon. I’d rather have your whole family know that this is serious between us and not just a…”

“Fuck buddy arrangement.”

He rolls his eyes. “I only agreed to that so I could hypnotize you with my gigantic, world-record-holding, dick, Ace.”

“Lord, my mother has made your ego worse. What am I supposed to do with you now, Slater?”

“Love me, Marigold. You’re supposed to love me.”

I look at him, my heart beating erratically in my chest. “What happens if I say I already do?”

His beautiful dark eyes sparkle down at me. “I’d tell you that I’m going to keep your heart safe, baby.”

“That’s not exactly what a girl wants to hear—at least not completely,” I grouse, watching as his lips spread into a smile.

“How about the fact that I love you, too, Marigold? Would that work?”

“Maybe,” I answer with a grin.
