“I’d like to see you try.”

“Don’t tempt me.”

Sighing, I rolled my eyes. “You are the most infuriating thing, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting to kiss you.”

“You can’t.”

“I can. All you have to do is say the word.”

We locked eyes for a few heartbeats. His intense stare had me clenching my thighs together, hoping for a way to distract myself from those tempting lips. I couldn’t stop imagining more.

“Do you really not want to take advantage of this situation we’ve found ourselves in?”

“What are you talking about?”

His palms slid around my waist, and I didn’t stop him. “Well, two consenting adults... consenting. Doesn’t it seem the slightest bit odd if we don’t take advantage? We could”—he gave a lascivious waggle of his brows—“you know.”

“Are you actually suggesting we—”

“Until neither of us can walk straight? Yes. Yes, I am.”

Was it hot in here? Why was my throat so tight? I had to have heard him wrong because there was no way he just suggested we have sex.

“Taylor, are you high?” I backed out of his hold, staying close enough he could grab me again if he wanted to.

“No. I think it’s a way to make the best out of our predicament.”

“Predicament? This is not a predicament. This is an arrangement we made together.”

He gave me a pleading look. “Aye, it is, but it’s also an arrangement that has left me in a serious state over the last two months.”

What did he mean by a serious state? Then it hit me. The man was horny, and he seemed to think I was fair game simply because I’d married him. “Oh,” I said, trying to wrap my brain around this new wrinkle in our agreement. “So you and I... How would that even work?”

He smirked. “Well, first you get naked, and second—”

“I understand how it works.” I wasn’t a virgin like my sister.

“It doesn’t have to change anything between us, but I think we’d both benefit if we, you know... fuck now and then.”

Of course he did. Cocky fucker. “So you to get off and I get what? An STI?”

The eye roll he gave me said he was not amused. “I’m not going to give you an STI. I don’t know how you think I could.”

“I’ve checked out your dating profile onMeet-Cupid.”

“Oh, you mean the one I never use?”

“The one yousayyou never use.”

“The only person I dated on that app was you.”

“We never dated on that app.”

“No, but you were on it, weren’t you?”

“At my sister’s request, yes.”

“And I did the same at the team’s request. You can’t hold that against me.”
