“Yes!” Atlas spread his thighs wider and grabbed the lube from the nightstand. He passed it under the duvet, receiving a muffled “thank you” before two slick fingers pushed into Atlas’s passage. They reached deep and curled around his prostate. “That’s it!”
Pleasure radiated from Atlas’s core and he rode Declan’s fingers. Atlas enjoyed the flaring of his nerves for a few moments, then begged Declan to let him come. Declan pulled his fingers from Atlas’s passage and heat and pressure swelled in the base of his cock. Pleasure exploded in his core and Atlas sobbed Declan’s name. There were delighted moans as Declan greedily lapped up every drop.
“Fuck! Come here!” Atlas begged, throwing back the duvet. “My turn,” he growled as he practically heaved Declan over him and at the headboard. Declan grabbed it and yelped when Atlas held onto his ass and guided Declan’s cock to his lips. He took Declan deep into his throat and was rewarded with a burst of pre-cum as Atlas rocked him back and forth.
“Atlas!” Declan clutched at Atlas’s head and his breaths were strangled squeaks as his body jerked and writhed.
“Mmmmm…” Atlas growled in agreement, encouraging Declan to let go. His thumb found the soft skin underneath Declan’s sac and Atlas kneaded as he sucked harder.
“Atlas!”
A hard burst of cum flooded Atlas’s mouth and it was bliss as he swallowed Declan’s release and listened to him pant and sob. They touched and kissed for a few more minutes before Declan followed Atlas into the shower and “helped” him bathe. It was heaven, flirting and teasing Declan with soapy hands under the water, then dressing together as they made plans for the evening.
“I know you can’t drink a lot because you have to be up early for work tomorrow, but I’m getting a bottle of wine to go with dinner. I want to celebrate,” Declan declared as he adjusted Atlas’s tie and gave his chest an appreciative pat.
“Me too,” Atlas murmured, rubbing his lips against Declan’s. “Get champagne. I’m having you for dessert and you’d go best with something light and bubbly.”
“I do?”
“You do. You go right to my head and make me act silly.”
“I always feel like I’ve drunk a little too much champagne when I’m with you,” Declan said, sighing as he set Atlas away from him. “But, you had better get going. You’ll change your mind about me staying if I make you late.”
“That’s where you’re wrong,” Atlas said, stealing a kiss as he went to get his briefcase and his keys. “I’ve never really had a reason to be late or something worth rushing home for and I feel like the luckiest man alive at the moment.”
Declan sighed and looked a little dizzy as he followed Atlas in his t-shirt and white boxers. “Oh. That’s really nice.”
“It is, isn’t it? And it would be really lonely here without you now.”
They shared one last lingering kiss before Atlas left, and he wished he could have found better words to describe how much his heart and his idea ofhomehad changed after just a weekend with Declan. Although, the weekend prior had been the beginning of a reset as well despite Declan being unconscious.
He expected more panicking and second thoughts before he found “the one” and got down on one knee. But Atlas felt complete when he was with Declan and like he had a real purpose. The FBI was a career and he was passionate about bringing people like Winterstone and Leary to justice, but Atlas was meant to love and protect Declan. And that brought him more peace and joy than work ever would.
Atlas was absolutely beaming as he started his car. The day felt brighter than the dreary forecast and Atlas didn’t care if everyone could see him glowing from a mile away. He was in love with the perfect man. And Atlas knew that he was loved. Completely—for who he was and with every bit of Declan’s heart. It was humbling to be loved so ardently, but it was also a relief to know that his heart was in the best hands and that Atlas was safe as well. He was Declan’s purpose and they would grow old together.
The world made so much more sense and Atlas’s priorities were clearly defined by the time he strode past his assistant and into his office. It was a hell of a thing to finally see your life laid out in front of you and know you’d chosen well, that you’d have it all. He hadn’t just found the perfect partner and an ideal future, Atlas had found a path to something far more meaningful than running an agency in Lavender and Lake Cliff.
Atlas would have a family and a home with Declan, and he’d use his connections to Lavender and Blink to take down the criminals and organizations the FBI couldn’t touch. He was going to take what Paul had built to the next level. Atlas saw the potential for Lake Cliff to be stronger and do more good; he just had to prove that Lavender and his crew could be trusted with a little more freedom and less oversight. And he had to sell the whole scheme to Lavender.
How hard could that be?
ChapterEighteen
Declan was a changed man when he pulled into Lavender and Sage’s driveway to return the Subaru. He couldn’t wait to tell Sage and Blake that he had finally done it and Declan couldn’t wait to tell Speed that he just might need a best man after all.
“Paul and Reginald are back!” Declan said as he got out of the car and pointed at the Range Rover in the driveway next door. Atlas had followed in his car and was smiling as he joined Declan.
“Looks like it’s going to be a full house this morning.” Atlas threw an arm around Declan as they walked and they laughed when they spotted Blake at the window spying on them.
“Sage should be happy. He loves having everyone home for the holidays.”
And he felt like he was coming home as he admired the bales of decorative hay and the pumpkins and fall decor on the front porch. The door swung open and Sage was grinning from ear to ear as he waved for them to get inside.
“Look at this!” He exclaimed, practically jumping for joy. “I take it your ‘weekend’ went well.”
“You guys!” Blake was jumping as he bounded into the foyer and tackled Declan with a hug. “You did it!”
Declan’s face was getting hotter by the second and he wished that everyone wasn’t crowding into the foyer to congratulate them, but he was touched as he nodded bashfully. He offered Sage a sheepish smile.
