Angus picked her up and laid her across the bed and bent down to suck her nipple. She sighed when his teeth scraped over her and whimpered when he moved his mouth across her breast to her sternum and licked his way down to her stomach. Angus dropped to his knees on the floor and gripped her hips, pulling her to the edge of the bed. He knelt between her thighs, his hands gripping her hips, his thumbs on her mound. Needing more, Thadie lifted her hips, silently demanding that hedosomething. Angus inserted his finger into the side seam of her bikini bottoms and traced her thin strip of hair.
‘Is this what you want, sweetheart?’
She couldn’t talk, only feel. When no words hit her tongue, Angus spoke again. ‘Thads, do you want me? Want this?’
‘Please don’t stop,’ she begged, half sitting up to press his hand against her and opening her legs wider to give him complete access to her. She cried with pleasure when his finger stroked her, exploring her folds and slipping inside her.
‘You are so very beautiful,’ Angus murmured. ‘So responsive.’
‘Come inside me, Angus. I need you.’
‘I need a condom,’ he told her, turning away to pull open a bedside drawer. She caught a glimpse of the foil packet he tossed on the bed, wanting to weep with relief.
Angus surged to his feet, his hands going to the drawstring of his board shorts. Thadie pushed his hands aside and pulled the cords apart, pulling open the Velcro fastening. Pushing her hand under the fabric, she found his hard length, thinking that, like every other part of his body, he was stunningly, ferociously masculine.
His board shorts fell to the floor and Angus stood between her falling-off-the-bed legs, his eyes glittering, his cheeks flushed. He pulled her bikini bottoms down her thighs, slid on the condom and pushed against her entrance, hard and delightful. Thadie dug her nails into his firm buttocks, pulled him forwardand Angus sank in an inch. His eyes slammed closed and Thadie knew he was fighting for control, fighting the urge to plunder. To conquer. To take.
But she wanted him unhinged, out of control because she wanted him to feel the way she did. She launched her torso up, hooked her arms around his neck, and looked into his bright blue-green eyes. ‘Take me, Angus, fill me. And do itnow.’
His lips quirked up at her bossy comment and he punished her by holding back, slowing his hands down and keeping his mouth an inch from hers. Yeah, he gave the orders, he didn’t like taking them.
‘Think you can keep that up, soldier?’ Thadie teased him.
Without giving him time to answer, Thadie lifted her hips in a fluid movement, and he slid inside her.
Angus’s eyes narrowed. ‘That was...unexpected,’ he muttered.
She didn’t want to talk, she needed action. She wanted to feel overwhelmed, swept away...completed.
‘Stop talking, Docherty,’ Thadie murmured, lifting her mouth to meet his. He kissed her deeply, his tongue echoing his skilled movements down below. Thadie was on the verge of shattering when Angus’s mouth turned tender. He slid his hand under her butt, lifted and tilted her hips and Thadie felt him even deeper inside her.
Exquisite sensation slapped her sideways and she tumbled willingly into a bright kaleidoscope, dancing among the colours. As she tumbled through reds and greens and purples, yellow and golds, she heard Angus’s shout, felt his body tense and his release, wondering if he was seeing, feeling, the colours as she was.
She hoped he was. Like him, it was too good an experience to miss.
CHAPTER SEVEN
THESUNSETTHATevening was magnificent, a riot of pinks, purples, gold and orange, the sky tossing colours into the sky to say goodnight to the sun. Thadie watched the colours change and the sea turn an inky blue. The stars started to pierce the sky and, sitting here, she felt like a well-loved woman, and not like a harried mum. This was who she was when she took the time to be herself.
Despite her six-month engagement to Clyde, it had been four years since she’d rolled around a bed with a sexy man, feeling reckless and free. The infrequent sex she’d shared with her ex had been uninspired. But she hadn’t questioned it.
She hadn’t questioned much.
She’d thought that snagging a father for her boys was all that mattered.
But that wasn’t true, not any more. What she wanted and needed counted too. It was hard to admit but she’d neglected herself, and her needs, over the past few years. Her parents had never put her first—she didn’t think she’d even made the list of their priorities—so she had done the opposite and given everything she had, and more, to her sons. In trying to balance the scales of her past, she’d swung in the opposite extreme. And it only took being dumped an hour before her wedding, meeting her ex, forty-eight hours to recover, and two rounds of spectacular sex to come to that conclusion.
She definitely needed to be quicker on the uptake. But she was trying, and that counted too.
They’d meandered down to the beach for a swim after making love a second time, holding hands as they walked down thepath, arms around each other as they crossed the sand. After swimming out to the reef, they fooled around in the shallows, exchanging long, unhurried, luxurious kisses. Standing in the sea and enjoying the warm water on their bodies, Thadie wrapped her legs around Angus’s hips and leaned back into his loose grip.
She tipped her head back, looking at Rock Villa nestled into the shadows of the granite rocks, the colours of the sunset bouncing off the huge windows.
‘It feels like we’re the only two people on the island,’ she said, her thumb brushing over his collarbone.
‘It does,’ Angus agreed, his eyes turning greener as the sun dipped lower. ‘Are you sure no one is expecting you to join them for a drink or a meal?’
Thadie shook her head. ‘Both Dodi and Ella said that they wanted an evening alone.’
