He didn’t have to ask me twice.

I woke the next morning, at first disoriented, wondering where I was. But then the night before came flooding back. I'd never before had a night filled with so many orgasms. We’d fucked again after I sucked him off, and then he woke me twice in the middle the night with sensuous touches that led to more orgasms.

I looked over to the other side of the bed, but it was empty. From outside the room, I could hear the murmur of a voice. I checked the clock on the side table, noting it was only seven in the morning.

As much as I hated to admit it, my time with Max had come to an end. I'd never before been so disappointed to have my time with a man come to an end. I rose from bed and noticed a robe lying across it. I considered slipping it on thinking perhaps we could have one more morning interlude, but it was best not to prolong things. He might even be annoyed if I expected more today.

I tied my hair up and jumped in the shower, washing quickly, then getting dressed.

I stepped out of the bedroom into the main part of the suite.

Max stood at the window in one of the complementary robes with a phone in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other.

He turned toward me, his gaze scanning my body from head to toe and back up again. He gave me that sexy smile of his.

"Everything sounds like it's going well, Douglas. I’ll be returning to New York tomorrow. I've got to go now." He pulled his phone away, tapping the screen, presumably to end the call, and then set it on the table. "Good morning, gorgeous."

It was ridiculous how much my heart fluttered in my chest at the way he looked at and spoke to me. If I were a woman looking for happily ever after, I'd grab onto it. It was a good thing that I wasn't a woman looking for a relationship because as sweet and sexy as Max was, I was pretty sure his words and looks didn't mean anything beyond the obvious attraction.

"Do you have to run off, or can you have breakfast? I've already ordered coffee but was waiting to see what you might want for breakfast before I ordered."

I needed to addthoughtfulandgenerousto the list of quality characteristics Max had. "I don't want to be in your way. It sounds like you were on a working call."

"That was just a quick call to New York to let them know what I was doing today and when I'd be back. I'm done until ten."

Darn it. I should've put on the robe because that would've given us time for another round of great sex.

"I wouldn't mind a cup of coffee."

He poured me a cup, and when he handed it to me, he leaned over, giving me a quick kiss on the lips. My heart did that flippy flip thing again, and I followed it with a reminder that he was just being nice.

"I'm going to order eggs and bacon. Can I order you something too?"

Tell him no. Tell him you have to go.The more I was around him, the less I wanted to leave, and that wasn’t good. “I guess I could have some breakfast.”

His smile suggested he was pleased by my answer. “What would you like? Eggs, pancakes?”

My eyes lit up. “I like pancakes.”

He laughed and shook his head.

“What’s so funny?”

“Nothing. My brother, Sam, is a pancake fanatic. I always joke with him that it's a breakfast for eight-year-olds."

I arched a brow. "I am not eight years old."

His gaze took a heated inventory of my body again. "No, you're not."

My nipples had gone hard, and I looked down to see if he could notice. Yep. Yep, he could. But maybe that could work in my favor.

We stood staring at each other for a moment, and I wondered if he was contemplating skipping breakfast and going back to bed. But finally, he gave his head a quick shake and went to order breakfast.

While we waited, he hurried to the bathroom to shower and get dressed. I guess that answered the question about whether there would be more sex before we parted ways.

He returned to the main living area of the suite just as our food arrived. Once our dishes were served, we sat at the table. He had a nice view of Las Vegas out toward the mountains. The day was clear and bright, making it a lovely spot for a morning after breakfast.

"So, what's on your schedule today?" he asked.
