“I think I drank too much last night,” I murmured against her neck.

“Oh?”

“It’s the only thing that can explain why we’re in bed and still dressed. If I’d had my wits about me last night, we would be waking up naked.”

“I was just thinking the same thing.”

“Were you now?” I continued to trail kisses along her neck. “How do you feel about sleepy, slow sex in the morning?”

“I feel pretty good about it.”

Hallelujah. I tugged the zipper of her dress down and pushed it from her shoulders. I stayed spooned behind her and helped her shimmy out of the dress. I unclasped her bra. She tossed it aside. Lastly, she pushed off her panties.

Was there anything better to wake up to than a warm, soft woman? I tugged her to me, my dick, constrained in my slacks, pressed against her ass. I slid my hand over her belly and down to the curls between her thighs.

“You’re not going to join me?” She sighed, softening even more. There was nothing like the powerful feeling of having a woman surrender her pleasure.

My lips were again on her neck. “I will. But first, you.” I found her clit and gently rubbed it. It didn’t take long before her breath caught, and then her orgasm washed over her. Only then did I undress. Naked, I spooned around her again, lifting her leg to make room for me. I slid inside her body, her pussy quivering and squeezing around my dick.

I took my time, moving slowly and languidly. I kissed her neck and shoulder as I rocked in and out of her. It was sensuous and sweet. I wasn’t looking forward to leaving and never having this again. It was an unsettling thought.

I continued to move as if I had all the time in the world until I hit the edge of pleasure. I groaned. “I’m close.” I reached over her body, pinching her hard nipple as I rocked faster, deeper, harder.

“Oh!” She cried out as an orgasm flowed through her again. Her body gripped mine, and with one more thrust, I emptied. I held her against me as the last waves of pleasure flowed through us.

When our heart rates settled, I gave her one last kiss on the neck and then rolled onto my back. She rolled onto her back as well.

Still feeling a little bit cloudy but oh, so good, I slid my hands over my face.

An abrupt movement on the bed had me opening my eyes. Amelia stood beside the bed, her eyes angry as she gripped the sheet around her body.

“You’re married.”

Huh?“No, I’m not.”

“You’re wearing a wedding ring.”

What the hell was she talking about? I looked at my left hand, and sure enough, there was a wedding band. I looked up at her, confused. That’s when I noticed the gold band around her finger.

“So are you.” Something was wrong here. Maybe it was a dream. A nightmare. A warning about why I couldn’t let my emotions get tangled up with her.

“What?”

“You’ve got a ring too.” I pointed to her hand.

Her head jerked down, looking at her left hand.

For a moment, she looked as confused as I felt.

“Oh, my God.” She turned and sank onto the bed as if something dawned on her.

“Care to fill me in?” Something about this wasn’t right. What had she done?

She shook her head. “I’ve become a Las Vegas cliché.”

All this was starting to feel like déjà vu. I was about to be made a fool. I rose from the bed, grabbing my underwear and pants and slipping them on. “What does that mean?”

“We must have gotten drunk-married last night.”
