The kitchen was modern and done in the same light colors. Honestly, everything was so amazing. She just knew that his mother had decorated everything. The class and comfort screamed of his mother’s influence.

There was a hallway leading off to one side and a wide staircase led up to the top floor.

“There are two bedrooms and bathrooms down here and five bedrooms and four bathrooms upstairs. There is a small bathroom downstairs for pool guests, so you don’t have to run up the stairs,” he said as they walked around the room.

She turned to him and watched his face closely for his response as she asked, “Which bedroom are we going to take?”

Damion’s body instantly responded to Jules’s question. However, he had a few things he wanted to do first. Like eat and shower.

“Whichever one you want. I would, however, suggest one of the main bedrooms on this floor. Taking those stairs for a midnight snack can be a bitch.”

She laughed. “Only you would think of stairs as an inconvenience to get to food.” She shook her head. “Let’s go look at them, and I’ll decide.”

“You go. I’ll start bringing in the food and our things,” he suggested, needing some time. “Then we can eat out by the pool and take a dip.”

He saw her eyes run over his face before she nodded. “Sounds perfect.”

He left her and went back outside to gather their things. There was a massive cart that helped him carry most of the things up the dock. Still, he had to take three trips to get it all. Isaac and his crew had packed more food than the two of them would need for a month.

Her bags were easy enough and after she’d picked the guest room facing the water, the one he always stayed in himself, he set their things in the large walk-in closet. She helped him cart up the rest of the items and they put the food in the fridge and cupboards together. The menial task seemed a whole lot more fun with her by his side.

Then they mixed Jules a drink, grabbed him a beer, and headed back down the stairs. The dip in the pool was well needed and hard earned.

It felt good to wash the salt spray and sweat from his body while rubbing his body up against Jules as they played in the water together. He left her in the water and went back upstairs to make them sandwiches and grab them a couple more drinks.

When he came back out, she was lying in the sunlight on a lounge chair, and he felt his heart practically stop. She was a goddess in the sun. Her soft skin practically glowed. Her hair shone and looked silky soft.

He wanted to drop everything and run to her. Hold her. Consume her.

Instead, he set the tray with their food and drinks down on the table, which sat on the side of the pool area in the shade of the trees along with a massive hammock.

They joked and flirted with one another while they ate.

“God, do you know how long it’s been since I’ve taken any sort of vacation?” she said between bites.

“You went to Hawaii last Christmas,” he pointed out.

“Being around my ohana does not count as vacation. Even if I get to stay in paradise, eat amazing food, and go surfing every day.”

“It doesn’t?” he asked with a laugh. “Sounds pretty amazing to me.”

“That’s because you don’t know the rest of my family. We spend most of our time running around, arguing, or fighting for attention. My cousins are always causing some sort of fight, which then lasts the entire trip.” She rolled her eyes.

“You love them,” he said, seeing it clearly in her eyes.

“Of course. That doesn’t mean they don’t drive me nuts at times.” She smiled. Her eyes moved out to the water. “God, this is so amazing.”

He glanced out over the water and saw the amazing view. There were big puffy clouds floating across the bright blue sky. The emerald-green water was so clear, you could see the fish swimming in the shallow water.

“Yeah,” he agreed, “it is.”

“Don’t get me wrong. Hawaii is pretty amazing, but the long flight, the feeling of not being able to hop in a car and take a long road trip…” She glanced over at him.

“You could always get a sailboat,” he joked.

She rolled her eyes. “What is it? A four-week journey to the mainland?”
