“Sharp.” He smiled. “I’ll have breakfast all ready for you. Just… get here,” he said and kissed her again. “See you then.”
“Okay.” She smiled as he turned and walked away. “Damion?” she called after him. “I can’t wait until tomorrow.”
“Me either.” He smiled all the way down to the docks.
CHAPTERTWELVE
Jules must have packed, unpacked, and repacked more than a dozen times. She wished she’d had enough time to run into town and buy a couple new swimsuits and maybe a sexy dress or two as well.
In the end, she settled on packing five of her nicest bikinis, two sundresses, a sexy evening dress, some cotton shorts, a couple of T-shirts, two sweatshirts, and shoes to go with each outfit. She threw in her makeup kit after getting ready the next morning and hauled the two suitcases down to her car from her apartment.
She doubted Damion would have two suitcases and thought of repacking everything to make it fit into one, but then figured she had to stop second-guessing herself and shoved it all in her trunk.
When she arrived at the camp, Damion was sitting in a golf cart in the parking lot, waiting for her.
“Morning.” He smiled at her and when she got out of her car, he walked over and hugged and kissed her.
“Morning.” She smiled up at him.
“I figured you’d want a ride to the docks.” He motioned to the golf cart.
There were more than twenty golf carts on the campgrounds. When the camp had opened, there had only been five or so. But as the camp grew, more golf carts were needed. The employees used them to haul guests and their luggage to each of the cabins or just to race each other around the grounds.
Scarlett held the record for winning the most races. Everyone was pretty sure she was cheating. Somehow.
Damion loaded her luggage up on the back of the cart and, to his credit, he didn’t complain or even say anything about her two suitcases.
After everything was stored below deck, she sat next to him while he navigated out to the bay area.
“We’ll be heading back to Destin first, then out to the Gulf and down the coast. Isaac’s team loaded us up this morning. My little kitchen below has never been fuller.” He patted the spot next to him. “Wanna drive?”
She shook her head. “Maybe later. Right now, I want to sit back and enjoy being on my very own private sail with a sexy man at the helm.” She wiggled her eyebrows.
“We’ll stop off at Crab Island for breakfast,” he said. “We won’t anchor close. It’ll still be too early for most of the tourists.”
“Sounds good.” She leaned her head back to enjoy the warmth of the sun. Since it was early, it wasn’t roasting them just yet. She had brought a couple different sun hats for when it got too hot.
It was a short trip to Crab Island and when they were a few yards from the clear shallow water, Damion cut the engine and tossed one of the anchors overboard.
“Won’t we need both of them?” she asked, motioning to the bigger anchor that sat at the front of the sailboat.
“No, this’ll hold us in place long enough for us to enjoy our breakfast. Besides, no other boats will dock near us out here. They’re all closer in at this time of day.” He was right. There were more than a dozen boats already crowding around one another in the center of the shallow sandbar.
“Now sit back. I’ll get our breakfast.” Damion disappeared down the narrow steps.
Since the sun had warmed up, she removed her shirt and shorts and sat back in the bikini she’d worn underneath.
When Damion came back up carrying a large tray filled with food, he whistled.
“And to think all I had to do was feed you to get you to undress,” he joked as he set the tray down on the bench. He reached over and flipped a lock holding a flat surface that he used as a table.
She moved over and sat on the bench after he moved the food to the table. “Wow, this looks amazing,” she said, taking a slice of watermelon.
“Isaac’s best.” He headed back down the stairs. When he came back this time, he had a bottle of champagne and two glasses. “He thought of everything.” He sat next to her.
They ate fresh fruit, small muffins of every flavor, and her favorite—little quiches with bacon, ham, egg, and cheese.
“I’m so stuffed. If we eat like this for the entire trip, I’m going to have to go on a diet when we get back,” she joked.
