He never cried over you.

He never cared.

All you were was a willing pussy.

Luna pulled into the Trojans MC’s parking lot. Several guys were hanging around. A couple she recognized, a few others she didn’t.

She noticed Raoul. During her time in high school, he’d been one of the guys a few girls had wanted. Even though he was older and didn’t go to school, they still wanted him. From what she knew, he was happily married and had a son.

Then there was Pike. Married with kids. She knew Crazy as well. The names of the others, she didn’t know, but she remembered them.

After climbing out of her car, she slammed the door. Of course, that garnered more attention than she wanted.

Get back in the car and go home.

That was all she wanted to do, but she was stuck now. Stuck with her decisions. She wasn’t going anywhere until she had confronted Matthew.

“Hey, Luna,” Raoul said. “Who are you looking for?”

“Matthew.” She wasn’t going to chicken out. “Do you know where I can find him?”

****

“Dude, wow. Fuck me,” Kid said, pulling his hand back and giving it a shake. “What the fuck is up with you?”

“You asked to hold the bag. Come on, hold it for me.”

Kid groaned. “This was before you went a little crazy on me. Fuck me. What is with you today?” He shook his hands out but stepped behind the bag, tensed, and waited for Matthew to strike. “Are you going to tell me what is going on?”

“Just hold the bag.”

He stared at the bag and slammed his fist against the flesh of it, enjoying the slight pain that came from it. In the back of his mind, he saw this stupid, fucked-up kid who screwed a lot of girls instead of paying attention to the one he really wanted.

Luna. He wanted her so fucking badly. Propositioning her like that had been a huge mistake. He shouldn’t have done it, but the words had just spilled from his lips.

Of course, if she came and asked him to fuck her, he wouldn’t say no. Only a fucking loser would say no. Last time he checked, he wasn’t a fucking loser.

He was in complete control.

Stepping back from the bag, Kid grunted again and shook out his arms.

Duke had told them today they didn’t have any work, to keep themselves busy. Matthew had already completed laundry duty. Kid and Rick had worked on the bathrooms. Matthew had done bathroom duty, and he much preferred to do laundry. It was easier. Less mess. Less stench.

Kid stepped back and sat down on one of the benches. “Jeez, man, remind me to never get on the bad side of that hook. Damn.”

Matthew had trained for a long time. Gone was the small, slender boy of his teenage years. He’d built muscle. Thick, hard, muscle. He wasn’t as big as some of the guys, but his dad had also told him that with time, he’d bulk out, like him.

Until then, he worked hard. He wanted the guys to know they could trust him. That was the point of being a prospect. Once you cleaned up a guy’s shit, piss, and everything in between, was there twenty-four seven, willing to do whatever was asked, and show your strength, then you became a fully fledged member.

Matthew wanted that. If it meant he had to work a hundred times harder than anyone else, he’d do it. As a kid, he’d expected to become a fully fledged member just because of his dad. Damn it, thinking back to that time, that wasn’t so long ago, he would’ve gladly kicked his young ass.

He couldn’t go back. All there was for him to do was make sure he never reverted that way again.

“Either a club brother has wronged you, or it’s a woman,” Kid said.

Matthew turned toward him.

“Ah, a woman. Does this have anything to do with that Luna chick? The guys keep mentioning her being someone important to you. I don’t know the whole story.”
