“I…” I blush. “I couldn’t.”
“You can. Well,” he frowns. “I think we both know it wouldn’t exactly be good to spread that around, seeing as… well, for obvious reasons.”
I grin. “Oh, the scandal.”
But the second I say it, my dirty mind goes to all sorts of “scandalous” situations involving Colton and I, and my face burns hot.
He clears his throat. “Think about it. The guest room is yours for as long as it takes to figure all of this out. And I mean that.”
I bite my lip, our eyes locking. “I don’t know how to thank you, Principal Kane,” I whisper, wincing as I catch myself. “Colton.”
He smiles, shrugging before he glances at the clock. “Shit, you should get back so you’re not late for first period.” He chuckles. “Wouldn’t want to get sent to the principal’s office, would you?”
Yes, I would.
But I just smile as I nod and finish the last of my coffee before I head into the bathroom to change into the clothing he got me. Three minutes later, at his backdoor, he smiles at me again, those piercing blue eyes burning into me.
“Just think about it today and let me know, alright?”
I nod. “I will.”
Oh, will I. About that and so many more things I most certainly should not be thinking about where my Principal is concerned…
