Relief washed over me and I took a deep breath, inadvertently inhaling West's scent–which was not overpowering cologne. It was a mix of leather and laundry detergent. He smelled fresh and clean and delicious.

"Can we go?" I looked around his shoulder. I didn't want to come face-to-face with Mr. Reynolds again. My blood pressure couldn’t take it.

"Spill," he said as we power-walked down the hall to the parking lot.

"It was weird. The weirdest conversation we've ever had, actually. It was okay at first but...he made a comment when I was about to leave. About you."

West's face was stern yet gorgeous in a manly sort of way. He wore a black baseball cap–backwards of course–that tamed his dark, silky locks. "Continue," he ordered.

"He said I needed to call you off him. That you're possessive of me, and that if I'min trouble, I can always go to him for help. Oh, and that he's more talented and better looking than you."

West laughed. "That stupid fucker doesn't know who he's messing with."

"West..." I said as we approached my car. Most of the other students were long gone, the parking lot empty aside from some faculty and football players who were at practice.

"Don't worry, princess. He's not going to bother you again," West said before kissing my forehead. It was the second time he'd done that and I wasn't sure how I felt about it. It was so tender, so sweet, so intimate. SonotWest.

He steeled himself, realizing his mistake, and opened my car door for me.

I was still reeling a bit from our make out session–which was much hotter than anything I’ve ever had with my other hookups. Holy hell, it was hard to pry myself off his thick, hard cock. I wanted to rip his sweatpants down and impale myself on him right there on the deck. If his dad hadn’t turned the light on, I probably would’ve. My self-control was non-existent around West.

"You should get going so you’re not late for your coffee date. Make sure to talk about me."

I slid into the seat and tried to start the car. Nothing. I tried again. Dead.

"No offense, princess, but this thing's a heap.”

"I'm aware of that. Shit. My dash has power, so it’s not the battery. Probably the starter I've been putting off replacing," I threw my head back against the seat in equal parts annoyance andwhy me, why now?

"Come on. I'll give you a ride."

I grabbed my bag and locked the doors, not that I had to worry about anyone wanting to steal my car. Hopefully all the parts would still be there in the morning. I would have to figure out how to get it towed and fixed–what’s a few more bills to add to the pile?

"I can fix it for you if you get the starter. They're pretty easy to replace. I can do it right here in the parking lot, so you won't even need to tow it," West said as we left GPHS and my broken-down car in the dust.

"I don't have the money for a starter right now. I don't even have money for a tow. With it being the beginning of the month and ya know, needing to eat, I'll be short until Friday or Saturday.”

West grunted in response. I couldn’t tell if that meantokayorhow pathetic for you. I didn’t like to advertise my problems–money or otherwise–but it was difficult hiding everything all the time.

West hadn't brought up the incident from Saturday night, and I sure as hell wasn't going to be the one to mention it.

That was...intense. Powerful. Captivating. Panty-melting. I'd been completely soaked from it and may have put my vibrator to use once I went to bed. I couldn't help it. The man did things to me no one else did. He made my body come alive in ways that I didn't know were possible. Why was I so responsive to him? Ugh.

I tried to put the memory behind me as we drove through town and listened to I Prevail, one of West's favorite bands. I would've had Gabby take me to Starbucks if I didn't need to stay back and talk to Mr. Reynolds. I'm not sure why he didn’t give me the brochure in class, but I felt like it had more to do with his warning at the end. He didn't like the little displays West was putting on for him in class. I wasn't the biggest fan of them either, but West had a point. They shouldn't bother Mr. Reynolds. He shouldn't get triggered by seeing West touch me. It was all too much to think about.

"You're worried about that slimy fucker, aren't you?"

"I'm more worried about what you're going to do to him," I said honestly. I'd dealt with my fair share of unwanted advances over the years. It was part of the reason why I tucked a knife in my boot most days. The last thing I wanted was for West to get involved in something and end up in jail. Or worse.

"Don't be," he scoffed. "I'm just gonna let him know. That shit I've been pulling in class? That's nothing compared to what I'm going to do now."

That statement was equally exciting as it was terrifying, sending butterflies aflutter in my belly. "You know that affects me too, right?"

"Don't worry, you'll enjoy it almost as much as I will," he grinned.

I didn't doubt that for a minute.

Shit.
