The knowledge arrived at the same time as a wonderful sensation of joy. Every other guy she’d ever been with faded away. They were insignificant. It was just this crazy guy leaping around a ring yelling in triumph who existed. He was the one for her.

Money swapped hands. Rigor helped Teddy to sit, and someone passed him a bottle of water.

“Gotta get you cleaned up,” Carter said, as he and Wyatt ducked from the ring. “Belle?”

“Yeah, I’ll sort him.”

Wyatt was grinning. Blood stained his teeth and dripped off his chin. His eyebrow was split in two with a large gash, and the flesh around his eye was thickening by the second.

“Here.” Jayden handed him a rag. “Press this on to stop the bleeding at least.”

“Yeah, you’re bleeding like a Russian princess.” Taff peered at Wyatt’s scarlet-smeared cheeks.

“It’ll be okay.” Wyatt glanced over his shoulder at Teddy who was being helped to his feet. “Was worth bleeding for.”

“I hope you’ve sorted this out between you now,” Belle said, adjusting the rag so it was actually putting pressure over the cut. “I should go and check on Teddy, and then I’ll fix the mess that is your face.”

“Thanks, babe.”

Rigor suddenly appeared. “Guys, I need you…” He glanced at Wyatt and frowned.

“Why?” Taff asked.

“Yeah, what’s going down?” Carter asked.

“The informant, the one that got my pa time, he’s just walked into Roxie’s.”

“What?” Carter’s mouth fell open. “Finnegan?”

“Yeah, him.”

“Got a damn nerve.” Jayden punched his fist into his palm. “After what he’s done.”

“You sure it’s him?” Taff asked.

“Reliably informed.” Rigor jerked his head in the direction of a group of club members. “I’m gonna take my guys, but could do with some extra Barbarians. Fuck knows who he’s with.”

“Count me in.” Carter took his Glock from his pocket and checked the barrel. He took the safety off. “He’s a dead man walking as far as I’m concerned.”

“Yeah, rats don’t deserve to ride bikes … or breathe.” Taff nodded. He gripped Rigor’s shoulder. “We’re your club brothers. Show us the way.” Fury laced his tone.

Jayden nodded determinedly. Eyes narrowed, mouth a tight line. He pulled a knife from his pocket, spun in so the light glinted off the blade, then tucked it away.

“Yeah, I’m in.” Wyatt sent a bloody spray of spit to the ground. “Personal now, ain’t it?” He looked at Belle with his one useful eye.

Rigor frowned at him. “Appreciate it, man, but get cleaned up first.”

“Nothing wrong with me.” Wyatt stooped to retrieve his t-shirt, then took his gun from Carter. “Show me the way.”

“You won’t be able to see the way.” Belle once again adjusted the rag. “Not until we’ve stopped this gushing.”

“I’m not fucking bothered about a bit of blood.” He pushed her hand away. “I want this guy to pay for what he did to you. If it hadn’t been for him, you and Rigor would have your pa around.”

“And I don’t want Belle to lose you as well.” Rigor tilted his chin. “You can’t see to ride in that state. Get cleaned up, meet us there.”

“I can see just fine, I—”

“No.” Rigor shook his head. Belle recognized the steel in his voice. He wouldn’t change his mind, and he wouldn’t take happily to being disobeyed.
