For now, Rigor was cool, not happy, but not about to explode at the thought of him and Belle together.

Teddy was a different matter. The guy had a problem, and he wasn’t looking for a solution that would benefit Wyatt.

But as Wyatt stepped out of Nina’s into the heat of the day, he pushed Teddy from his mind. The fat, hairy asshole could take a hike. Wyatt had other things to think about, starting with making sure Belle knew how much he’d miss her.

“That thing bulletproof?” Belle asked, pointing at the black van he and Taff would use the next day.

“Sure is.”

“Good.” She paused and frowned at it. “That dude with the goatee, Arturo’s sidekick, he’s not a fan of the Barbarians.”

“I gathered that.”

“I mean … he’s…”

“What? Did you hear him say something?”

“Not specifically. I could just tell he’s not okay with the deal that was struck. Watch him. He might go rogue.”

“If he does, he’ll take a bullet.” Wyatt followed her up the metal steps toward his room. “And for the record, Taff’s not the most stable of dudes when a gun is pointing his way.”

“He’ll have your back though, right?”

“One hundred percent. I’d trust him with my life. Wouldn’t be going to collect with him if I didn’t.”

“Good.” She pushed into his room. “’Cause I want you at the rally in one piece, you know.”

“Ah, you don’t need to worry about that.” He pushed the door closed, enjoying the click because it meant they were alone.

Belle didn’t seem to notice, and to his frustration, she shut herself in the bathroom. He heard the tap running.

He filled a glass with water, drank, then saw her book on the sofa. Picking it up, he turned to the page she was at. He’d need to get some more ideas from the duke, make sure he could tick the boxes on all her fantasies.

After a few minutes, she came out of the bathroom, a swirl of perfume coming with her and her lips freshly glossed. She held her red wash bag, now stuffed full of the toiletries she’d spread out on his bathroom shelf.

He set the book to one side, and to his dismay, heard the first of the bikes roar to life.

Damn it.

“Where’s my backpack?” She looked around, spotted it, and started to shove things into it.

“Hey.” He slipped his arms around her waist and backed her up against the wall. “Forget packing for a minute, I want to give you a proper goodbye.”

“You do?”

She smiled up at him, and his cock went from a semi to hard in an instant. The week ahead was going to be damn frustrating. “Yeah.” He kissed her, the taste of her fruity gloss slicking onto his lips.

She clasped her hands at the back of his neck and pushed closer.

Her soft breasts flattened on his chest, and he moaned, wanting to have her naked, wanting to touch her, to kiss her all over. Not leave an inch unexplored.

But he didn’t have time for that. Outside, more bikes roared like caged beasts. Rigor wasn’t messing around. They were hitting the road … soon.

“You make me so fucking hard,” he said onto her lips, grinding his cock up against her.

“Oh, God, Wyatt, I don’t want to go.” Her pupils were wide, her cheeks flushed. She was so damn sexy. “Let me stay.”

“You can’t.” He ran his hand into the dip of her waist, over the flare of her hip, and then to the hem of her short denim skirt. “But I’ll give you something to remember me by.”
