She hisses at the touch of the alcohol pad, and on instinct I bring her hand to my mouth and blow gently on the cut. Thankfully, it’s not deep, but even a little scratch like this should be treated.

“Let me bandage this up, and I’ll take you home, okay?” I say, and her cheeks turn pink before she nods.

“Just please don’t tell Kyle I was crying,” she says softly, and I pause with the Band-Aid as my eyes meet hers.

“Are you going to tell me what happened?”

“Like I said, it was just a misunderstanding. I don’t want to get him in trouble. He told me his dad was out of town.”

“I was,” I say, not correcting her on calling me his dad. “But it’s a good thing I came back early.”

“Thank you.” Her whisper is so gentle as she touches the Band-Aid and then bites her bottom lip.

“How old are you?” Once again the words blurt out of me, and I have no idea why my brain isn’t filtering shit tonight.

“Eighteen.” She opens her purse and pulls out her wallet. “Do you need to see some ID?”

“No, I’m not a cop,” I say, glancing at her address and double-checking her date of birth. “This is where you live?” When she nods, I take her bag from her and help her off the stool. “That’s a fancy part of town.”

“My sister's husband is loaded.” She covers her mouth as she says it, and then I see that pretty pink blush creep over her cheeks. “I don’t know why I said that. I just mean he can afford it.”

“It’s all right. Most of the kids at Kyle’s school can.” The wind has picked up a little tonight, and I notice she doesn’t have a jacket. “Hang on,” I say when we get to the front door, and I open the closet nearby. I grab one of my zip-up hoodies off the hanger and hold it out to her. “Put this on.”

I’m a bastard because as she does it, I take one last look at those pretty tits before she zips up the front.

“Thank you.” Her voice is so sweet it makes my teeth ache.

Turning around, I grab my keys, and then to my shock, I feel her hand on my forearm. That zap hits me, and when I turn back, she’s looking up at me. There’s no hiding those curves even under my hoodie, but when it falls off one shoulder, I can’t help but think about what that small patch of skin would taste like.

“Really, thank you for saving me. I hope I didn’t get Kyle into too much trouble.”

What the fuck did Kyle do to this innocent little flower?

“Let’s go.” My words are clipped because I’m so damn pissed at him, and maybe even at her touch. I’m old enough to be her daddy, and I have no business thinking about what any part of her body tastes like.

I hold the front door open for her, and after she steps through, she walks across the driveway to my car to open the door. Before she can grab the handle, I move her hand out of the way.

“That’s my job.” My mouth keeps on spitting out shit before the words are formed in my mind.

I wait for her to get inside, and after she does, I grab the seat belt and lean across her. She looks at me in surprise as I hover over her in the passenger seat and she watches me click the buckle.

“Thank you.” Her smile is so damn cute I have to look away from it.

Without another word, I close the passenger door and walk to the rear of the car. I stand there for a full ten seconds as I try to get myself under control. I’d be willing to bet everything I own that the girl in my car is as innocent as freshly fallen snow, and I’m hard as fuck after a few touches.

I adjust myself to hide exactly how hard I am and then slide into the driver's seat. “Why don’t you give me your number so when you get a new phone you can text me and let me know you’re okay.”

What am I doing? What the fuck am I saying? Is my dick the one in charge of my mouth tonight? I’ve just created a slip n’ slide that goes straight to hell.

“Sure. Hand me yours, and I’ll type it in.”

I pull out of the driveway, and after a second, she hands me my phone. I see the name Nadia Hall with little pink hearts on either side of it. Fuck, that shouldn’t make me harder, but it does.

It’s like Satan has crawled into my skin and is leading this parade of sin.

She doesn’t live too far from me, and when we pull up to an elaborate gate, she tells me the code to enter. I definitely don’t memorize it as I key it in and then wait for the iron gates to part.

“This is me.” She smiles as I pull up to the doors, and she tries to get out.
