“Um.Hell no. You are perfect. Let me just push my eyeballs back into my head and then I’ll go change.”

I run into the bedroom and begin shuffling through my closet.

Glancing over my shoulder, I see Sem leaning against the doorframe and bite back a groan because I’d rather just stay here and peel those clothes off of him. One by one.

“Stop looking at me like that,” he grumbles, pressing his hand against his crotch.

“Not my fault you look like sex. We could market you. I’d be a millionaire. Men and women would line up just to stare at you. We’d sell little rags people could use to wipe up their drool. God, I’m a genius.”

He rolls his lips between his teeth, and I tug my shirt over my head. I quickly shrug on a retro button-up shirt and pull on some dress pants. Next is my bowtie and suspenders, and when I’m done, I turn to Sem and hold out my hands.

“Ta-Da!”

Sem moves toward me and tugs on my T-Rex bowtie.

“Why the fuck are you so damn cute?”

“God made me this way,” I snark and then grab onto his hand and link my fingers through his. “Now, where are we going, big man? I’ve been dying to figure it out. Even called Luke for some clues.”

“You did not,” Sem grumbles.

“I did. But he wouldn’t tell me. Said it was a secret. Though he did tell me something.”

Sem glances down at me, and I smirk up at him.

“What did he say?”

I mime zipping my lips, and Sem snorts. “Probably don’t want to know anyway.”

Then he picks me up and carries me to his truck, where he sets me inside. I buckle my seatbelt and then cozy up to him as he drives us into the city.

“So…are we going somewhere fancy?” I ask, my fingers running up and down his thigh. “I think we are since you’re dressed like this.”

Sem grabs onto my hand, and I notice that the knuckles are healing well.

“Patience. You’ll see soon enough.”

“Perhaps, I could give you an incentive to tell me sooner?” I say, glancing up at him. “I can be very persuasive.”

He glances down at me and links our hands together. “Patience, Maggie.”

I roll my eyes but smile as I lean against him and casually smell him. I have no shame, apparently.

Thirty minutes later, we pull up to an expensive restaurant, and I gasp.

“For reals?” I say, unbuckling and leaning forward. In the distance, I can make out the sun setting over the expanse of the ocean, reflecting orange and yellow stripes over the water. “This place is ridiculously expensive, Sem. You can’t be serious. You need to sell your firstborn to eat here.”

He pushes open the truck door and holds his arms out. “Yeah, well, it’s our first date, so….”

“I love it,” I gasp as he picks me up and sets me gently on the ground. I grab onto his hand, pulling him forward. “How did you get a reservation?”

Sem shrugs like this is no big deal. “Made it a while ago.”

My eyes widen at that. “You did not.”

“I did.”

“When?”
