His body stiffened under me. “You did? Am I to assume you wouldn’t mention it after sex unless it was good?”
I propped up on his chest and smiled. “Yes, love. You don’t have any of the genes for Young-onset Alzheimer’s.” I stroked his cheek with my thumb, watching as he processed my words.
Zander hugged me tightly. “I’m so glad you checked. I know you told me it would be okay. I should’ve listened to you.” He exhaled, his body relaxing under me.
“I’m sorry I didn’t read it sooner.” I wished I hadn’t been afraid. Of course, I wanted to grow old with him for the next fifty years, but I’d been scared like him.
“Don’t do that, Jay. You just gave me a new lease on life.”
“Ah, yes. I feel your happiness against my thigh.”
