“Nothing you do would make me angry, so long as it doesn’t have to do with another man.” I watched her worry fade.

She shook her head, smiling. “It doesn’t.”

“Then tell me.”

“I stopped taking my birth control when I finished the last one… A week ago. I know the Dirty Hunters are still a threat, but I just thought—”

“Are you serious?” I said louder than I meant to. My heart raced with excitement and maybe a little fear. Would I be a good dad? Shit was about to get real. I wanted a baby with Madeline, more than anything, I just hoped I deserved her and our baby. Well, I’d do everything possible to be a worthy man.

Worry flashed in her pretty eyes. “Are you mad?”

I flipped her on her back and climbed on her so I could see her beautiful face clearly.

“Not even close.”

“I can feel you hard again between my legs. Should I take it as a sign?”

“Damn straight, you should. My mission starting now is to pump as much of my cum into you until it makes you good and pregnant. Am I mad?” I chuckled. “Silly woman, you’ve made me happier than I’ve ever been in my entire life.”

She pressed her small hand to my cheek, her eyes filled with love and adoration forme.

“Make love to me, Kaleb. Slow, passionate love. I want you deep inside me. I want our bodies as one. Just like our souls.”

Damn this woman, she almost made me cry. Almost.

“Anything my Angel wants, she gets.” I dropped my mouth to hers, kissing her like it might be our last. I wouldn’t rush anything for the rest of the night. I’d love Madeline slowly, deeply, passionately. Just as she asked.

I wasn’t a praying man. But at this moment, I prayed we’d create a baby, a little human who was pure just like its mother—my Angel.

Madeline

On the evening of the party, I ran late by half an hour because I couldn’t decide what to wear for the party. After an hour of trying on what was left in my closet, Tara forced me to pick something.

Last night, I spent the night at Tara to pack the last of my belongings. Storm and I argued over it, but eventually, I gave in and agreed to him staying with me. I wasn’t stupid. The Hunters were still in the area. This morning he’d returned to the clubhouse to set up the party, leaving AJ and Hollywood to watch after me.

My man had texted multiple times throughout the day. I felt terrible, knowing Storm didn’t get any sleep last night. I’d stayed in the living room with Tara gabbing all night.

Now I was running late.

At least my makeup and hair were finished. I went with loose beachy waves. I had on a little eyeliner to make my eyes pop, but on the whole natural. It was just who I was, a simple woman. Storm preferred me this way. He hated fake eyelashes, tarantula eyes as he called it, or caked-on makeup.

I had on my favorite tan boots with the cross on the front. They paired well with my white denim shorts frayed on the edges. These shorts made my legs look spectacular and tanner than they really were. An aqua blue off-the-shoulder crop top complimented them. The color made my eyes stand out even more, along with my tits.

“Let’s go, let’s go, let’s go,” I hollered, running out the front door with the last box of my clothes in my arms. AJ grabbed it from me and carried it to my car. It hadn’t cooled off yet. The air felt thick, like scattered storms were on the horizon.

Tara snorted from behind me. “For the record, we’re late because of you. I was ready an hour ago. Smells like rain.”

“I was just thinking the same!” I laughed. Could she hear my thoughts? “Girl, Storm’s texted me three times asking where the fuck I was.” I hopped into the driver’s seat and gave AJ and Hollywood a thumbs up. As AJ drove off, I followed him with Hollywood behind my Honda CR-V.

“What happens when you piss him off? I mean, he doesn’t look like a nice, forgiving guy. He struts around with a permanent scowl on his face… Until he looks at you. He loves you, Mads. I can see it.”

I gaped, turning toward her. “You can tell Storm loves me?”

“Uh, yeah. Hasn’t he told you so yet?”

I worried my bottom lip between my teeth. Neither of us had said the L-word. “No, but then I haven’t told him I loved him either.”
